This was the rudest couple we met in the whole state of Maine! We were traveling with another couple and when we arrived, Roger scolded us for parking in the wrong place - there were no signs and we were new guests. He was cleaning the fireplace ashes, kept his back to us and never got up to welcome us.... More

This was our second stay at the Graycote Inn. We had very much enjoyed our visit a couple of years ago and looked forward to visiting again. We were not disappointed. The rates are reasonable and vary depending on season and length of stay. A beautiful and tasty served breakfast is included as well as snacks in late afternoon. The... More

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary in Maine. The B&B was very charming and we were greeted by Roger upon our arrival with a 10 minute tour. Since we visited off season, many restaurants and stores were not open yet or had limited hours. It was very nice that the innkeepers had put together a list of all places... More

Stayed at Graycote Inn in August 2011 with my wife for a long weekend and had been meaning to write a review. I completely agree with the last review and can only apologize for not writing mine sooner as it would have prevent them a bad stay. Our main complaint is with the couple that run the inn: Pat and... PLEASE DON'T STAY HERE!!! The owners themselves must be writing the good reviews. Every negative review is true. If I could put less than one star, I would. Pat and Roger are the two most rude, unfriendly innkeepers I have ever met. We also were forced to go on a 45 minute mandatory tour of the inn and hear the... More

I have been to Bar Harbor many times on both business and for vacation. I have stayed in many of the properties there, but the Graycote Inn is always my first choice. The prices are very reasonable and Roger and Pat always insure that my stay is both comfortable and enjoyable. The rooms are wonderful and even the smaller rooms... More

We have always wanted to visit Maine and had originally planned to do so for a honeymoon 25 years ago. That trip finally took place in September this year (2011) after 25 years of marriage and our youngest of two children leaving for college. We called and talked with Roger before making our reservation and he was helpful in suggesting... More

It’s a great place to visit and a hard place to leave. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have found the Graycote Inn in 2008, and have been coming back every year in September, with each visit being longer than the prior year. What initially caught our eyes was the environmental leader certification. The inn is very clean and comfortable;... More

Have returned for several years to the Graycote Inn and love it every time. The rooms are beautiful, the breakfasts are fantastic, and it is peaceful and quiet. I love being close enough to walk to the harbor and shops, but love the location on a side street. More

We thoroughly enjoy our visits to the Graycote Inn in Bar Harbor. We have gone every year following Labor Day since 2007. We are warmly welcomed by Pat and Roger when we arrive. Breakfast on the lovely glassed-in porch is outstanding every morning. The Inn is super clean. Information about things to do and places to eat are plentiful. We... More
