From the time I called Cova Hotel and spoke with Joyce, I had a good mental impression of the place, regardless of the reviews I read online. I was so happy that I chose Cova. When my husband and I checked in, we were met with friendly faces. Roth and Anton were at the front desk. They were so helpful.... More

I read a lot of good and bad reviews on tripadvisor before i stayed during my recent vacation in April. I was skeptical about the homeless people and the noise that was mentioned in the reviews. There are homeless people around but the hotel has a wonderful option of pick up and drop of his guest to Union Square/Fishermans Wharf...Great... More

The hotel was better than expected. Clean and quiet room with a nice bathroom and comfy beds. The staff could not have been better. They went out of their way continuously to make our stay pleasurable. my one minor complaint was the breakfast served on the 8th floor was just OK. Areas that could be improved was eliminate the fake cheese... More

This hotel was our first stop in America. We really enjoyed our stay here, the rooms were clean and a good size. The hotel lobby is a nice place to relax while you wait for your room and they also kindly hold your bags. There is also plenty of maps of San Francisco and plenty of brochure with things to... More

The Cova Hotel is an awful neighborhood. Ellis Street is full of crack heads. It's not safe. When we arrived, the Front Desk couldn't find our reservation. Once they did find it, there wasn't a room ready. The price point is too high. The continental breakfast is low quality food. Overall we had an awful experience. More

Hello LittleKingWeilert, Thank you for staying at the Cova Hotel recently and we appreciate your time in sharing your experience with us. We regret that our immediate area did not meet your expectations. Our neighborhood is a very popular and unique part of San Francisco. There are homeless shelters a couple of blocks away from the property which we advise... More

The hotel is excellent and I'm told the Tenderloin is up and coming but believe what people say, it is rough area. Convenient to get to Union Square and Market for shopping, yes and the safety of other tourists and office workers. Not many of them to be seen around the Tenderloin. I took the BART from the airport and... More

I really recommend you pay close attention to the environment in which this hotel is located. We recently stayed there for one night and couldn't wait to get up and out of there, and to a new hotel. Its location on Ellis St places it in the middle of homeless shelters, strip clubs, massage parlours and street workers on many... More

Excellent budjet hotel in not the best area of San Francisco, however the hotel itself is clean secure and has good facilities. I got a better deal on bookings.com than the standard $180 a night rate. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times and the inclusive breakfast more than adequate. I wish I had noticed the free... More

Let me start off by saying: For those who are afraid of the location/area/people.... it's really not that bad. There are a few bums and questionable looking people around, but it's no different than any big city. I was there with my mom, and we never felt threatened or scared, even at night. We were never approached, harassed, or bothered... More
