Our stay at the Kabuki in Japantown was medically related and the location was convenient to UCSF Medical Center. A bright, refreshing, beautifully appointed hotel with much to see and do in walking distance. Our room was quite large and the bed most comfortable. So enjoyable! More

Hotel Kabuki is a wonderful hotel in the heart of Japantown San Francisco. The ambiance is mixture of feudal Japan and modern day Kyoto. The rooms were immaculate and the view breath taking. The housekeeper and overall staff extremely approachable. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the food will make a glutton out of any anorexic. The bartender seem... More

I've stayed at this hotel, I've eaten at this hotel, and I've been to a banquet at this hotel, and it is a good property with consistent, good service. From the check-in to check-out, it was a good experience. The bellman was friendly and quick. The restaurant in the hotel - O Izakaya - has quality service, and the food... More

The interior of the hotel is pretty new, the service is also good, but the hotel hardware is too old. The insulation of sliding door and window in each room had worn out. I stayed there on a windy day. It was like sleeping in a roaring train -- door was rattling, wind was whistling all night. I changed 3... More

My wife and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary at the Hotel Kabuki and we could not have had a better experience! The staff was so friendly and helpful. We even brought our 7 month old along with us and as we checked in the receptionist made sure that we had all our needs meet for her as well. This... More

The Hotel Kabuki is in the center of Japantown in San Francisco. It's convenient to the shopping area of Filmore Street and Pacific Heights. The hotel is the old Miyako Hotel. When Joie de Vivre took over the hotel they were smart, they kept the unique Japanese feel of the hotel in tact. They kept the traditional Japanese rooms that... More

We had never been to San Francisco before and where instantly attracted to the originality of Hotel Kabuki and the location in the heart of Japantown. Our first impression was positive, the reception guy was helpful and the ambiance was relaxed and cool. We had reserved the traditional Japanese room complete with tatami mats; sliding door, strange indoor garden and... More

This is by far one of my favorite hotels! We booked this for one night, prior to a business trip, but I wish we would have stayed here the whole time! The grounds are beautiful! As soon as we were dropped off out front, the garden are decorated with Bonsai trees surrounded by traditional Japanese looking buildings! The lobby was... More

We just stayed at the Hotel Kabuki in San Francisco. We loved it. The traditional Japanese decor even translates to the rooms, and I slept like a baby in their beds. What was perhaps most fun was that their restaurant and bar and delicious, from the happy hour to the breakfast. And the bartender at the Happy Hour was a... More

I wanted to love this place. I did not. It was fine in many ways....rooms were comfy and clean. The front desk staff were EXCELLENT. It was quiet, no external noise, and although it was a 25 min walk to Union Square, we didn't complain. We loved the amazing sushi places that were so close by. The things I did... More
