This place is awful! The staff is not friendly or helpful. We were obviously from out of town and asked what the best way to travel the city was, and where to go... We were told "walk". No suggestions, no bus or cable car info, nothing! Our room had a refrigerator that wasn't plugged in... So nothing could b kept... More

If you dont have much money to spend, this hotel is OK for a solo traveler. It certainly isnt for couples as the rooms and beds are way too small. Its VERY VERY old, something your great grandma would have found rather appealing. Its centrally located though, about 15-20 minutes walk from Powell BART up the hills. The room had... More

If you book Mithila by internet be aware that you may not get a bathroom but are asked to share one. You will then be asked to pay $20.00 more a night. You would probably agree as you would be jet lagged and couldnt be bothered to argue, Bit of a con! Continental breakfast is muffins, sweet cakes and oatmeal... More

An average hotel. Excellent location and very good price, but the room wasn't great. The remote did not work for the TV and there was a leak in the bathroom. Also, there was no cold water in the taps!In fairness, the water issue was fixed after informing staff twice! I met two different staff members and one of them was... More

This place smells, looks cheap, feels like Crap, sign says no parking 4-6pm, so we missed the sign and got our truck towed, made us pay the parking ticket costing us 450$ for nothing. I'm being very Honest, This hotel is the worst ever been in my entire life. And will be forever. I will never spend my money here.... More

The hotel is old, and, while not sparklingly clean, it isn't dirty either. It is just old. The rooms were adequate, but those who have trouble with stairs should note that the elevator is very small. Good if you just need a place to sleep, as the ambiance is lacking. Good location and reasonable price for San Francisco. More

I had a trip in san fran and stayed at this hotel, service was nice and the price was nice but the rooms are terrible. I thought its the price but its not worth it because of the cheap walls you could hear other people conversations and also you could hear people upstairs. even the bathroom doors are so thin... More

Good value and location, nice staff and room was nice too – no view but large enough and with a desk, TV bath etc. Problem was with the other guests – we never saw them but heard them! This walls meant you could hear everything, so half three was woken by someone coming in drunk in the room above, falling... More

I am a 48 yr. old, upper middle class businessman from Northern California, and have stayed at the Mithila twice in the past year, as my wife had surgery at the nearby St. Francis hospital. The Good: The staff there is very friendly and hospitable. They are eager to help with directions and parking. The rooms and bathrooms are not... More

The picture looked great, added benefits included breakfast, towels, TV, newspaper, restaurant, hot & cold shower. I cannot explain the difference when I got there none of these things were in the room. The bathroom was disgusting with old hair in the plugs, the beds were mouldy and my one sheet had bird muck on it. Window view of a... More
