I've been to alot of places in my life but this place is a complete hell hole. I voluteered in a homeless shelter before and it was in a better state than this hotel, honestly. Upon arriving in San Fran I was told at a tourist office all accomodation in the city is fully booked, apart from Harcourt Hotel(San Fran... More

I left the east coast in 1980 to experience living on the left coast. After I had exhausted most of my cash, I still was without work and needed a place to stay. I saw an ad in the paper for desk clerk wanted, apply @ Harcourt Residence Club.( as it was known in those days ) It was the most... More

For $273.00 a week you can rent a poorly cleaned room with a private bath replete with roaches, brain fried residents that tweek, yell and trip through the wee hours of the morning. The rooms are small, the carpet filthy, the comforter looked to have a thousand cigarette burns in it, the blanket had a giant hole in it and... More

I recently stayed at the Harcourt as when i arrived at my preferred hotel my booking had been cancelled, So the only place we could find a room was the Harcourt hotel. The room cost $67. We recieved a warm welcome from the gentleman on the front desk. Once we had checked in and seen our room we were shocked.... More

I was in SF last year to study for a couple months. The school people chose this hotel for me, saying it was ok, not 5 stars, but decent, lots of foreign students, long term residents, etc... [--]! They forgot to say that the "long term residents" included people on parole, ex-cons, etc... not my kind of ideal student trip... More

We booked this hotel, knowing nothing of the area in which it was located. We were looking for a place to sleep during our stay in SF -- something less than $100 per night. We found it. We were a bit apprehensive due to it also being a residence hotel with weekly and monthly rates and many rooms without private... More

This is primarily a residence hotel, and should not be used for usual hotel accomodations. It is a very old building with no new upgraids, not very clean, very shabby. The only amenity is a "dining room" with a microwave for residents to heat their meals. The location, the appearance, the clientele, all give the impression of a run down... More

The Harcourt is a great hotel for those who plan to stay for a few weeks or months in downtown San Fran on a budget. I stayed for the entire summer while I did an internship between my Junior and Senior years of college. The four great things about the Harcourt are: the price, the location, the people, and the...
