I think that one of hotel's Tomo biggest advantage is its location. We particularly love Japantown as it is a very quiet an clean spot in SF with nice dining options (japanese restaurants all around). Also, close to the hotel you have Fillmore st and California st where you can enjoy great coffee shops and restaurants, away from all the... More

Having had a less-than-enjoyable experience at more than one Best Western hotel, I first intended to write that there's at least one Best Western that's OK - the Tomo. Now I realize that Tomo is not a Best Western anymore... That makes sense, the Tomo never seemed like a Best Western hotel in the first place. It's got its own... More

I stayed at Hotel Tomo for the Cherry Blossom Festival. It was perfect location for everything in Japan Town and public transport. The room was very nice and clean. Super cute graphics and decor. Fridge and coffee maker were great. The bed was comfy and the rooms next door were all pretty quiet not to noisy considering all the event... More

Overall, the hotel was satisfactory for our stay...but I just wanted to make note of a couple things. Pro's: The beds were pretty comfortable and clean. The location is pretty cool and easy to take buses to all the tourist spots. Con's: I wouldn'nt recommend getting a rental car as there is no street parking. It costs 25 dollars a... More

The hotel is very nice, it shows that it is relatively new. The rooms are large and spacious, very clean and bright. The neighborhood is quiet, the hotel is opposite the entrance to the Japanese district, and near Fillmore Street, a street that becomes super romantic night with lights in the trees and restaurants for dinner. The parking is expensive,... More

This was our first visit to the Hotel Tomo. The greeting was friendly and checkin was a breeze. Our 6 th flr. room was clean and neat. Wi FI and flat screenTV were ready to go. Only minor problem was the constant slamming of doors 24/7. The desk agent indicated they were working on the problem. Parking under the hotel,... More

This hotel was not really what we thought it was going to be. The pictures make it look much more interesting that it really was. While the Anime theme was really cool, this was not a very comfortable hotel. The room was way to hot. The AC unit needed to be controlled the room key. A great thing to mention... More

Hotels in downtown San Francisco aren't cheap, but Tomo is definitely a bargain. Nice property, cute decor, friendly staff. Room service was very friendly and courteous, as well as the front desk. My only complaint about the property is that our room had no accessible electrical outlets. Zero. Nada. This explains why some of the furniture in the room was... More

I was on the 3rd floor. The first morning I took a shower and it was really cold. I went to the front desk later to inquire about it and unsurprisingly I was told it was probably cold because they had a full house and everyone uses the showers in the morning. He promised to have someone check my plumbing,... More

Stayed at the Tomo on Cherry Blossom weekend. Great Location but Much prefer the Hotel Kabuki for comfort and value (it was booked, however!). Location is right across the street to Japantown and the Cherry Blossom Festival. Lots of great restuarants within 2 walking blocks. Kappa Japanese Restaurant we found to be the best real japanese food (omakase style). We... More
