I would like to preface this trip report by saying The Grand Hyatt San Francisco is one of the best hotels I have stayrd at in regards to recognition for Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond members. Properties such as the GHSF make me happy that I have chosen to be loyal to Hyatt. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just completed a stay at the Grand... The hotel's location is central and makes it very accessible to explore downtown San Francisco. We spent 4 nights here and were very impressed by the cleanliness of the rooms as well as the modern feel. Breakfast buffet is great - however, the service on the other hand was a little bias towards older guests and did not tend to... More

This is a modern high-rise high-quality hotel. Location is excellent being right off Union Square and central to a lot of what San Francisco has to offer. Reception, concierge and restaurant staff were all polite and friendly. The rooms are recently refurbished and I had a bayview room on the 29th Floor. Great to open the electronically-operated blind in the... More

Centrally located in Union Square. Very accessible by cab or bart (metro). The lobby is under refurbishment, there is just a small area for guest reception. The room was ok, clean and with a beautiful view over downtown San Francisco. The thing I did not appreciate was wi-fi connection. It was not for free (10 dollars/day) and overall slow and... More

Dear gimalleo, Thank you kindly for your review. We are delighted you enjoyed the beautiful view from your room and our convenient location. Our internet pricing is comparable to other four-diamond hotels in the area and we feel we provide good value. However, we apologize for the quality of our internet service. Your comment is much appreciated and it will... More

I tend to avoid the big chain hotels as too impersonal, too cardboard-y, and too predictable. But I go to SF regularly for work and have to follow the rates my corporate site gives (the same room in SF can vary $400-500/night depending on what is going on in town that week). That led me to the Hyatt, which has... More

Dear vlong1, Thank you kindly for your review. I am delighted you enjoyed our newly remodeled guestroom and the spectacular view at the Grandviews Restaurant. We are undergoing our last phase of renovation in the lobby area and it is less than ideal and for that, we are truly sorry. We do look forward to see you return in the... More

Hi there -- Would love some tripadvisor feedback. I'm staying there over memorial day weekend and booked a package that supposedly includes a few things, including breakfast -- however every time I call I get a different answer about what is included or not in the breakfast, what type of room I'm getting, and the last two times I was... On the corner of union square but no cable car noise Check in and out were fast and easy with friendly helpful staff The room was large for a city hotel with plenty of room and extra furniture like a comfortable lounge chair and a dest with plugs. Nice bathroom. Good temperature control. Very clean. Nice interesting walk to the... More

I am not handicapped but was in room 2117 which is an ADA room. The hotel appears to have gone under recent renovation. The room was clean comfortable and had ample room for anyone with a disability. The light switches were low set as was the closet rod for easy reach. Desk and bath counter would Accomodate a wheelchair. There... More

We were pleasantly surprised by the rooms at the Grand Hyatt in SF. The lobby is undergoing renovations, so much of it is blocked off, however, our room was completely renovated in a tastefully modern but warm decor. The floor to ceiling windows give you an impressive view of the cityscape. I was very glad that I requested a high... More

I usually stay at the Grand Hyatt when I'm in San Francisco. It's location is great, just one block from Union Square, but the rooms overlook the square itself. The rooms are good size and their recent renovation has improved the hotel. One of the best parts of the hotel is their restaurant/bar, which is on the 36th floor and... More
