Can't say enough about our experience. You are our hero for going out of your way for us.... Excellent service and great place to lay your head. Tire blow out and no place open, thanks to Laurel who came to our rescue! !! Jean and Anne

Laruel was again wonderful to work with. She provided our family with a shuttle to our starting point for our backpacking trip on the Appalachian Trail. Her hospitality and attention translate to her business. We highly recommend her to anyone. You will not be dissapointed in her hostel or her shuttle services.

Laurel picked up three weary, muddy, foul-smelling cyclists from the C&O canal towpath (me & 2 friends) and chauffeured us to the hostel. She was a lifesaver, and that was just the beginning. Comfortable, clean, and a great breakfast. We slept like babies, and woke ready for another 50+ mile day on the path. The Tea Horse is great, and... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here to end our trip on the C & O towpath and ended up using Laurel's Shuttle Service back to our car. Not only was she kind and helpful, but her accommodations were excellent. Very clean and comfortable..she sets the standard. Added bonus, of course, waffles with orange juice and fruit for breakfast hit the... More

My family was hiking the Maryland section of the Appalachian Trail over spring break. We arrived at Laurel's lovely hostel after driving in from Cincinnati. This was my children's first experience staying in one. After a great nights sleep in a clean and comfortable guest room we woke up to a great breakfast of waffles, fruit, juice and coffee. Laurel... Laurel stayed up late for my late arrival. Very clean, welcoming place to stay for a hiker. Breakfast is included in price and was very good. Will stay there next year on my thru hike! Harpers Ferry a cool place to visit.

For those of you who have not hosteled before this wuold be a great introduction-but be warned that this will also be one of the best. Laurel has it down. A veteran traveler herself she has taken her learned experiences form her trips and brought back the best into this warm, friendly, squeaky clean hostel. Hot showers (x2) comfortable beds,... More

I won't be able to say in this short space how much my wife and I appreciated all of Laurel's help during our stay at the Teahorse Hostel. We stayed two nights before our planned hike of the Maryland portion of the AT. On our 3rd day, Laurel shuttled us up to Pen Mar and we had arranged to have... More

You have pinpointed the main reason that people choose a hostel for their lodging - they like to meet other interesting people and find community. I'm glad you came back - come again! More

I stayed at the Teahorse B&B/Hostel for three nights, July 23 -25 2012. This is a wonderful lodging in any price range, and I have been fortunate to travel much of the world and stay in a wide variety of accomodations. The Teahorse is incredibly clean, comfortable, hospitable, and includes a solid breakfast of waffles, fruit, juice and coffee to... More
