Upon walking into the gift shop, I was never greeted by the native lady and the white hair lady working behind the Jewelry Counter. I guess they were more concerned about giving another young Black haired worker their full attention. We never stayed at the lodge just wanted in to see what it was like on the inside. After shopping... More

We recently stayed at the Cedar Pass Lodge in the Badlands of South Dakota. I wouldn't really call it a lodge, although there is a huge shop/store/restaurant. The lodging consists of cabins/cottages. I can't really comment on the older (MUCH older) cottages as ours was brand spanking new - and FANTASTIC. Our trip through the west took an entire month... More

My husband and I and adult daughter were traveling cross country and spent one night in two of the new cabins. The cabins are duplexes and we had adjoining units with a connecting door. As they are brand new everything was lovely although there was a chemical odor which we assumed was the log finish (and which presumably will dissipate).... More

We enjoyed our stay in a new duplex cabin. The cabins are just right inside the enterance of the park, right behind the Cedar pass Lodge and near the campground. Nice new cabin, you can't complain about new. The second night the other unit left the tv on all night and you could hear it, but barely. Nice bed, nice... More

We rented a new lodge cabin for one night and it was surprisingly modern, clean and a really great place to stay. We had a spectacular view from our back porch and comfortable seats. There was not one thing to complain about. It was hot during the day but cooled off and you could sit outside at evening. The restaurant... More

My wife and I have stayed at other national park facilities and adjusted our expectations accordingly. We made sure to book one of the new cabins (based on other Trip Advisor reviews) and we were very pleased with the accommodations. The convenience factor alone was tremendous but the room itself was very good on many levels. The room was beautiful... More

my boyfriend were passing through on a road trip, so we only stayed one night. we chose cedar pass, because it was the only campground that i could find in (or right next to) the badlands that had showers. this is a campground so take into consideration that the floors in the showers and bathroom are going to be dirty.... After a long day in the Badlands, we stayed in cabin 19. There was a double and a single bed. The cabins is from the late 1930s. The room was small, there was almost no space for the luggage. The beds were very soft. But the room was spotless clean, the bathroom too. As there is no TV or Internet,... More

Everything I read came true. My wife asked me to check to see if we could check in early (2:15 pm). I was told to come back at 3:00 pm. Room was very old and screens were held together with staples. Room was decorated in the 1920's and they have added a shower, an AC unit and new bedspread and... More

The cabins at Cedar Pass Lodge (run by the National Park Service) are in a great location for exploring Badlands National Park. We were up at sunrise and on a hiking trail within 15 minutes. That said, the accommodations themselves were only adequate. The bed was comfortable enough, but the bathroom was very small and the shower head was too... More
