Finally a hotel that figured out that guests don't want to spend an hour checking in. I handed my card to the nice gal at the desk, and in less than a minute I had my keys and was in the elevator. The remodel is nice, but the lobby chairs are there for looks, not for comfort. The rooms are... More

I've stayed at this property since its beginning 30yrs ago as The Smokey Mountains Inn on the Plaza and think they have done a great job updating . The lobby bar has a completely new trendy vibe. My room on the 10th Flr facing south was nice and the bedding was great. Ask for an upper floor room and enjoy... More

Checked in, wasn't even directed to the elevators, asked around. Door appeared to close but, when I woke up in the middle of the night and saw the extra light - it was not. Had to be slammed shut. But the best was at 9:30 in the morning, Housekeeping pounding on my door, checkout was at 11:00. told front desk,... More

Wasn't impressed with this hotel. The location was nice for walking around the city's downtown area, but the price wasn't very good for the quality. Management was less than professional and not very enthusiastic, the halls and rooms smelled of cigarette smoke, and the general facilities were not very impressive. The indoor pool looked pretty nice, but never had a... More

Not the biggest Renaissance, but for one night one a business trip, wonderful! Exceptionally nice staff, great location in the heart of downtown. Room was clean and well-appointed, albeit with a small bathroom. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was my only real disappointment, with gummy turkey sausage and unseasoned scrambled eggs. More

I stayed for two nights mid-week in April. The hotel is located right on the edge of downtown near some government buildings. Access to/from the interstate was quick and easy. It was easy and safe to walk to restaurants and shops downtown. The parking was just outside the hotel and was free. The room was comfortable and quiet. I didn't... More

My husband and I visit Asheville every year, and have been staying at the Renaissance since we are Marriott Vacation Club owners and usually enjoy the Marriott's that we book. The Asheville Renaissance has updated the lobby, and it looks great. The rest of the hotel still looks old - but that's not the problem (except for the outside of... More

Rooms are small, but have everything you need. Aveda products are a nice treat. We stayed on the club level and the rooms offer nice views of the city and mountains. The turn down service was a nice touch with complimentary water and chocolates each evening (I do not see that much anymore). The concierge lounge was a bit small... More

We only stayed one night and did not use any of the hotel facilities so I can't speak about those, however I can say that the hotel lobby and room were very well appointed and the room very comfortable. It was very nicely decorated and obviously a "higher" end hotel. Even though the bathroom was on the small size, we... More
