...is exemplified by the WhiteGate Inn. The moment we walked in the door, we felt like we were truly at home. Ralph's garden alone is worth the trip, but add Frank's humor, the amazing breakfasts and lovely surroundings and you will never want to leave. Breakfast is at 9:00 AM and is a wonderful time to get to know the... More

I booked a special deal at 1889 Whitegate Inn that was available for a limited time for limited days. I had to cancel due to a family emergency and asked if it might be possible to reschedule outside the original dates of the special. The response I received? "You tell us when and we will make it happen." and they... More

My partner & I were thrilled with the entire experience. We stayed in the Ralph Emerson suite. They thought of everything! Cozy king sized bed with all the amenities you can expect at a reasonable price. The gardens surrounding the cottage & inn were inspiring, and talking with the master gardener (Ralph, also owner) was a highlight. Also Frank (also... More

Upon our arrival we were given a champagne welcome and that set the tone for our entire stay. We stayed in the Dorothy Parker room and it was lovely with attention to the little things. Breakfast is served promptly at 9:00 and you don't want to miss it. There is a 5:00-6:00 PM social hour that provides guests and the... More

The hosts and their staff were very polite, professional, and warm. The sheets were incredible, and the food was yummy. My boyfriend liked the jukebox and chocolate cake that we could even sneak down at 1am to get a piece of. :) More

If you want to be relaxed, pampered, entertained, and well-fed, WhiteGate Inn is the place to go. We stayed 6 nights, and every breakfast was a gourmet feast. The evening social hour of wine and hors d'oeuvres in the lovely garden was a delight. Food was beautifully presented. Ralph is the horticulturist and very knowledgeable about the plants. Frank is... I highly recommend this B and B! My partner and I drove from Charleston and it was a perfect end on our one week trip with a glass of champagne on arrival. We stayed in the cottage and overall had a wonderful time. Definitely enjoyed the three-course breakfast and of course, Frank the innkeeper. Didn't get to talk to Ralph,... More

My wife and I and our friend had a wonderful three night stay at the Inn. The Innkeepers are wonderful and provide an added benefit of conversation, lightness and recommendations. Breakfasts are three-course gourmet affairs -- they start at 9 every morning and take about an hour. All day long, cookies, cake and other light refreshments are available. At 5,... More

I stayed at the White Gate for three nights last week. Frank and Ralph and the rest of the staff make you feel like you've known them forever. A different three course gourmet breakfast each day! And the beds are so wonderful. The gardens are gorgeous - especially the orchid greenhouse. They gave such perfect recommendations for dinners in Asheville... More

Thoroughly professional B&B. They welcomed us with champagne as soon as we arrived. A beautiful building, with interesting furnishings. Our room (Walt Whitman Suite) was on the ground floor. Beautifully renovated with an incredible bathroom. We were there for only one night, so we didn't really have the chance to experience much of what the Inn has to offer. The... More
