The room was OK. Nothing great, but seriously, this is a hostel, you're not expecting luxury accommodations. It was clean, the bed was comfortable enough that I was able to fall asleep, and it was quiet outside. Yeah, I think my view was of an ally, but I was there for a conference, not to spend the whole time in... More

It may be a cheap place for Boston, but staying there could be a bad idea. The positive: staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is okay. The location is great: good transport, lots of good restaurants, bars and clubs. The negative: they offer wifi connection to internet, but it didn't work during my whole stay (4 days!). So you... Stayed at the Boston Hostelling International for three nights, Thu, Fri & Sat (April 5-8), checked out Sunday morning. The Hostel is a three minute walk away from the Hynes convention center subway station, so it made traveling from the airport and to the BCEC convenient. The hostel will provide you with a towel, pillow cover, sheet, which you keep... More

I really liked this hostel, I stayed for 3 nights in February 2012. It is a good walk or an easy tube ride just out of Boston centre, but the area of the hostel itself is worth staying in; lots of great restaurants and some bars, with a "studenty" feel. The hostel itself is clean and safe and reasonable value.... More

This is probably a smaller HI, and older. Despite the older status of the building, it's ok for what it is and everything is still clean. The rooms are a little more on the smaller side, but the location is good and the staff are really friendly and helpful. I'd stay again. More

I've been traveling around Europe and the US, and this is absolutely the worst hostel I've ever stayed. Boston is a great city, but this hostel is a shame. It's Feburary and it's 32 degrees out there, but there's NO heating in your room! What makes it even worse is that there's NO hot water in shower! I went to... More

If you've ever traveled abroad, you know just what this place is going to be like. Bunk beds, single sex or coed dorm rooms, friendly, young and helpful front desk people that are hoping to help you get out into the city. The price is right, pretty good breakfast is included, and I had no complaints about the accommodations. A... More

Staff were helpul and helped us arrange a couple of trips and answered any questions we had in a friendly manner which isn't always a given in hostels. The rooms were ok, comfortable enough to sleep in, we didn't spend much time in the hostel as there was so much to see and do in Boston so it was more... More

I Stayed at HI Boston for about 9 nights at the end of August. I was very lucky and got a room on the ground floor so I didn’t have to lug my suitcase up any stairs. I stayed in a female dorm that had 5 beds. The room was clean, had air conditioning, and fresh white towels were provided.... More

Choosing Boston as a stop on my 45 day road trip with my daughter was easy. Finding reasonably priced non-chain accommodations with personality on July 4th was not. Just before caving and booking a 4-star chain, Hostelling International rescued me (and, my wallet) with a private room near Boston University and Fenway Park at a fraction of the 4-star price...
