Although the inn is located in a fabulous neighborhood, it did not meet our high expectations based on the nightly room rate. Our room and the common areas are very tired and are a hodgepodge of outdated and assorted furniture pieces. The breakfast was quite poor: the quiche obviously of the frozen variety that was not fully warmed and all... More

We are very sorry that these guests did not enjoy their stay with us. Victorian decor is not appealing to everyone, but the Inn is housed in an 1860 building and furnished with Victorian antiques, lamps and upholstery selections which may appear out dated and tired to people seeking a brighter, more contemporary look. Most of our guests choose the Inn... More

I've stayed at the Charles Street Inn twice now. Once several years ago with my young daughter for a "mother-daughter weekend" and just recently with my husband for a "get away from the kids weekend." The Henry James Room served us well on both trips. Lovely, large room and bath, it feels like a little sanctuary in the heart of... More

Based on other reviews and the cost of the rooms, our expectation of this place was fairly high, however we were bitterly disappointed by this place. If they were charging half the amount it would be good value, but they are charging as a high end hotel and the service nowhere near matches the cost of the room. The rooms... More

We're very disappointed to learn that you had an unsatisfactory stay. We're deeply sorry for being less than you hoped for and we sincerely hope we can improve so no other guests may feel the same. We're very perplexed to hear that you encountered our guests wearing jeans and casual-wear while on duty. We certainly do have a dress code... More

As many times as we've been in Boston (I grew up just outside) this was my son's and my first time staying intown. I chose Beacon Hill for it's, exquisite historical value and central locations to the venues we were attending (Blue Man Group in the theater district for one). The Inn is charming on it 's own and the... More

We are very sorry that you were disappointed with some features of your room and our staff during your stay. Our mattresses are high quality hotel standard and we compliment them with Nova Foam toppers which may create impressions as people lie on them. Although the bed was not comfortable for you, we have received many compliments about that bed... More

Charles Street Inn is beyond belief. All that is said or written about this Inn was more than true. The room was 1st class, warm, historic, romantic. A complete "your home" atmosphere, including fireplace and jacuzzi. The room as great as it was, can only come together because of the staff. The 3 gentleman who we experienced, Charles, Brian and... We're so glad to hear you not only enjoyed the room, but the service as well! We have informed the three gentlemen you mentioned of your praise and they were more than thankful! They all wished you a great day and have great hopes that you will return again! Thank you for taking time out of your day to write... More

My husband and I love this inn. We visited last year and were blown away. We returned this past week, with high expectations, for a quick getaway. It was just as wonderful as we had remembered it. A romantic fireplace, jet tub, luxurious mattress and linens, breakfast delivered to your room. Our 18 hour stay refreshed us as if it... More

We absolutely love receiving reviews like this! It's great to know we're doing something right and leaving our guests happy. One of our main goals is to be able to make time slow, but without the usual needed boredom and discomfort associated with slowed time. We're ecstatic to know we might have had a hand in lengthening your 18 hour... More

Title: Did not honor a confirmed reservation - Indifferent staff We had a confirmed and written confirmed reservation. We were dropped off the hotel with lots of luggage because we were on an extended trip. The person at the desk informed us that they were full and could not honor our confirmed reservation. He was completely indifferent to our situation.... More

We're very sorry for what happened. I remember your reservation very clearly and still highly regret what occurred. Unfortunately; your reservation was made on a day where our entire reservation system was being altered to a whole new one. We had an outdated system and were updating it to the most popular and common program among hotels today. While our... More

My partner and I stayed for one night while celebrating my birthday in Boston. Our room was wonderful, the antique furnishings beautiful. Everything seemed in good repair and well looked after. The staff were very warm and courteous, and we almost felt like old friends coming for a visit as we were shown to our room. We were given the... More

We thoroughly enjoy the inn. Been there a couple of times The staff is more than accommodating. Beds are extremely comfortable. Slept like a baby. Breakfast in the morning is fresh and delivered. What a treat! Fireplaces make it romantic and warm. Everything is easy. And beacon hill is a delight for walking shopping and dining. This is likely to... More

If you have ever dreamed of being pampered and treated like a God or Goddess then you MUST stay at the Charles Street Inn. Luxury is at every corner: fresh flowers in the room, a spa tub with robe and slippers, your own well stocked refrigerator (complimentary goodies in the frig and out), a laptop to borrow (free wifi,of course)...
