I have travelled across the country twice with my yellow lab dog. A majority of the places have been chain hotels or motels but some have been mom and pop places as well. I always check the website for their pet policy---weight restrictions, charge for pet, etc. I have probably stayed a combined total of two months in a hotel... More

My and wife and I stayed at Cabrillo Suites & Inn recently on a visit to San Diego. We drove from Los Angeles stopping enroute at La Holla briefly before proceeding to Point Loma. I booked the above hotel after reading guest reviews and the proximity to the Cabrillo Monument. The hotel was easy to find been on the main... More

I just spent 5 weeks in this small hotel, ideally located in San Diego. Originally I checked-in for 3 days but the High Level of Service from Dan the owner, won me over and I cancelled my other reservation to spend my entire stay at Cabrillo Inn. It is a comfy "unpretentious" small hotel run by a family who understand... More

Very well located, good price, clean and old hotel. Don't expect for a great hotel, but a plain one. More

This hotel was not at all how the pictures and describtion showed it. There was no A/C in the room. The furniture looked like a few pieces of plywood that were nailed together. I am not sure where the kitchenette was, but it was not in the room. I was afraid that I would be on an episode of Cops.... More

The hotel is good for single guys and couples that don't care about cleanliness and good facilities. Our room smelled awful (two air fresheners couldn't mask it) and about a half dozen tiles in the bathroom were cracked and loose. The bed was OK. Our TV went out for no apparent reason. More

We stayed here before we flew out on Thursday. I got a tremendous AAA rate that I couldn't refuse. For our needs it was great. The AC unit is really weird and threw heat. We opened the door and ran the ceiling fan on high for about a half hour. Cooled the room right down and we were good. Looked... More

Using trip advisor recommendations, we stayed here one night on our way to Ensenada Mexico. Very dingy front lobby area, and our room was pretty run down. There was a tile loose in the bathroom, the furnishings all outdated and shabby. Lots of traffic noise from the street, too. Breakfast is non existent - a coffee urn and some dried... More

Our last visit to Point Loma was two years ago when we stayed at the Dolphin. This time we needed a place that was pet friendly so we thought we would try the Cabrillo. The hotel is an odd building from an architectural perspective. The basement is the indoor parking area. The office is on the first floor but there... More
