you get what you pay for given the proximity to the various touristy places (empire state building, time square and 5th avenue). I stayed in this hotel a couple of times as a student and all i cared about was proximity to the action, cleanliness and a good price. This hotel delivers. The breakfast is good too (nothing special but adequate).... More

The rooms with 2 double beds is ample and nice but the single double rooms which are many is small and tight. Feels closed in and the photos mislead viewers. This particular Clarion will take as much money from their clients whenever possible. Other hotels in the area of similar caliber are more resilient and considerate and won't penalize 24... More

The entire stay I felt cramped. Hallways were not wide enough to meet a person from the other direction. My room sure was small, bathroom door needed to be open to dry off after a bath. I felt uncomfortable with stairs at my window with no view. Staff was one desk clerk. They were helpful. Breakfast was non existant if... More

Nice location on Park Avenue within proximity to the various touristy places. However, the rooms are in major need of upgrades. I am a Choice Privilege Diamond member, and stay at Choice Hotels throughout, but as one would think Clarion is Choice's property, I just cant see why this hotel still retains its flag. I rather pay $20-$30 extra and... More

The hallways are narrow, definitely not a place for the claustrophobic guests.  The shower has not been renovated for years and many people had taken a shower before me. Our room 401 had a window towards 5th Ave. and another in the bathroom towards a fire escape to an alley.  There were not alley cats" , but the courtship doves... More

The best price by far that I was able to find on short notice. The staff was great, friendly, and always offering help. The room was about 10x12. Smallest I've seen, anywhere. All I really needed was a bed and a shower, and it fulfilled that need. Breakfast was very unremarkable with good coffee. Wifi was free and seemed to work... More

I was very, very pleased with this hotel! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, with waffles, pastries, cereal, fresh fruit, apple & orange juices, milk, hot chocolate, tea, and coffee. My family and I had a room with two double beds, and it was very clean, comfortable, and much larger than we expected (given all... More

The staff is very friendly. The rooms are old fashioned but OK. The location is perfect, near to all attractions like empire state, central station, times square. Very near to subway station. Good price.

A twin bed in a hotel room? That's a first for me. Not only that, the bed was unstable and rocked terribly. Very uncomfortable. Walls were paper thin. At 7am in the morning I heard banging in a nearby room like maintainence was fixing something. I was trying to sleep.

I stayed here just as Superstorm Sandy was about to hit NYC. In the face of chaos, and the imminent shutdown of the MTA, the front desk staff was calmly helping guests make or change travel arrangements. The room was very clean, if small, and the breakfast was generous and would suit most tastes. I would stay here again.
