1. Eastgate Towers, East 39th Street New York. Walking distance of the UN building, subway and the river. > > 2. Despite the uninspiring look of the hotel at first glance - needs considerable upgrading of the entrance and reception area. > > 3. From the moment of arrival, the reception staff and the bellmen were courteous, charming and proficient... More

We are a family of five. This is the seventh time we go to New York. However it is the First time and last time at the EasgateTower. We made the booking directly on the site Affinia.com. We selected a suite with two double beds and a sofa bed. We also requested a room on high floors and early check-in.... More

Closet shelves were filthy, bathroom was dirty, the carpet under the bed hadn't seen a vacuum cleaner in a very long time. The furniture was worn and shabby. The tube TV picture quality wasn't as good as my first Zenith. The bed groaned when you moved on it.I brought my bike, not an offer to store it. First time that... More

The location was fantastic, near Grand Central. The rooms could use a little updating, but they have kitchens, unheard of in a NYC hotel. we were on the 19th floor and had a beautiful view. Also, if you need anything, they bring it to your door in a jiffy. Will stay there again. More

The staff were fantastic and went out of their way to be helpful, including putting great energy into matching us up with other guests who were travelling to the airport to save on paying for separate taxis (their initiative). We loved the spacious rooms and the location near Grand Central Station was ideal. An excellent supermarket in the next street... More

I spent weeks looking at hotel options for a group of 5 needing 3 beds in separate rooms without having to pay for 3 rooms. So was really pleased to find this through trip advisor. Don't be put off by the exterior - the location, facilities and price far outweigh the look of the building. Being able to make tea... More

I have stayed at the Eastgate Towers many times. The rooms are spacious but dated and worn. The bed was a little too firm for my tastes. Having a kitchen, living room seating area with 2 queen beds is something of a treasure in NYC. I can't say enough about how well the staff treats you. Every need is addressed... More

Would benefit from a visit from the 60 minute makeover team. Very run down. Very noisey with doors banging all night & people shouting up & down the hallway at all hours. Curtains all holes. Never again. More

If you're looking for a quiet, clean and spacious room for your stay in Manhattan, the Eastgate is for you. All rooms at the Eastgate include a kitchenette and are very well serviced. The hotel itself has very few facilities beyond the rooms so if you're looking for something more swish, choose somewhere else. As a tourist though I don't... More
