Stayed here for 2 nights in early May for a business trip. The location, as others have said, is great. Right by Herald Sq and Penn Station. The rooms are small, but the beds are comfy; clean linens and towels. The bathrooms could use updating but no major complaints. The breakfast left something to be desired; carbs carbs and carbs.... Be Aware!!!! Our stay at this hotel (Korean run hotel which is nothing close to its name "Stanford") was nothing close to pleasant. Here is the list of items that we found it too far from the reviews posted on tripadvisor (something didn't add up). 1. Hotel is so old that the shower rods are rusted so badly and you... More

Bottom line: I traded away amenities for the great location and very good price at Hotel Stanford. I consider myself an experienced solo traveler who travels light and has only basic needs in a hotel. So Hotel Stanford worked out well for me. I stayed there one week in late Apr12 while I wandered around as much of NYC as... More

This hotel is fab location wise. It is about 10 minutes walk to Times Square. The view from our room on the 11th floor was the Empire State building! Staff were very polite and check in was very smooth yes there is only one lift but you don't have to wait long. We got a shuttle from jfk which took... More

The location is perfect. Close to Broadway, Macy's and Madison Square Garden and Bryant Park. Would much prefer this hotel over one of the hotels in Times Square. The rooms are okay, but not better. Double rooms are small with tiny beds, I would clearly choose a queen beed. There is only one elevator, which is often busy, so is... More

Although the location is convenient to Penn Station, you are not able to control the A/C unit from your room. We advised the front desk staff that air wasn't working & they sent a bellman to look @ it while we went to enjoy dinner. his way of fixing the air was to open the window....very disappointing. The staff is... More

The Stanford hotel is located directly in the city close to the Garden and the Empire State. You get a pretty good value there. The rooms are okay for Manhattan. Do not expect plenty of room. Access to the subway is directly in front of the hotel. Breakfast was included. The service was very good and the people were very... More

Very convenient location, right off Times Square. We booked a great $110 Sunday night rate online, for a standard room. Upon check in,(we were 3 hours early, too) we were offered an upgrade to a Queen, for 10$, and we took it. The rooms are spacious for NYC, the beds are comfy, there is a big desk, two nightstands, two... More

We stayed in the Hotel Stanford twice, at Xmas. Hotel is around the corner from Macys great location. Rooms cleaned and beds made everyday for you. Staff very friendly, safe in each room , I could not fault the place really. One little downfall is the free breakfast, it is the same everyday , muffins, pastries, bagels, juice n tea,... More

Been there in 2011 on honeymoon. Nice place really near for almost everything in Manatthan. Staff was kind and helpful. Our room was little but we just went there to sleep. The hotel was clean and so our bathroom. Good breakfast served in a nearby bar. Some queues for the elevator. Really recommended. More
