We've stayed at the Avalon from 11. - 18. May 2012 / Executive Suite ( Room 404 / 4th floor). It's not a modern stylish Chelsea or Tribeca place. But it's Laura Asley style is charming and for exploring the city it's perfectly located. Overall a very good New York experience. Room was spacious and very clean. Got fresh linen... More

We stayed here for a family holiday to New York, and apart from a few hiccups, found it to be great! There was a 'mix-up' (their words) when we arrived, and only one of the rooms was ready for our first night, which was slightly annoying. I managed to sort alternative accommodation for one night, so it wasn't the end... More

In NY we prefer to avoid the busy, unattractive area around Times Square and find a hotel which is still very close to all attractions, with subway and buses nearby. That´s why we choose the Avalon. We had an Executive Suite which was really big- big bathroom with Jacuzzi and shower , big bedroom with very comfortable bed and separate... More

Everything was great. We had a standard room with a double bed - the room was comfortably large which was great. Plenty of room for your stuff, suitcases etc., no need to jump over things. A nice change from the minuscule rooms we usually stay in when we travel around Europe. It is not at all uncomfortable if you need,... More

Dear Jezdimir U, Thank you for taking the time to write about your stay at the Avalon. We are glad you enjoyed the hotel and its location. Our rooms are very large and if you were happy with the standard room, you would really our Junior Suites which comprise more than half of our rooms. Should your plans include a... More

I stayed here with a friend and although I had read the reviews before not all of them were favourable especially regarding the front of house staff. We arrrived and had asked that we have seperate beds but the room was far to small so they upgraded us to a junior suite with two Queen sized beds. The staff at... More

I booked this hotel through hotwire for a cultural trip for our 10th grade class. We booked five rooms for our class and chaperones and stayed five nights. Because our hotwire booking included complimentary breakfast, the hotel honored that commitment for our group even though their policy had changed. The breakfast was just right for us. We had the kids... More

I stayed here with my husband who took me to NYC. I have been to New York many times and have never stayed in such a large room! On the first night we were unable to get the room we had asked for- we had requested a king bed, got 2 doubles- not a big deal at all as the... More
