On a recent visit as part of a work visit we had 6 rooms booked and all were a bit sub-par. Buffet was also average and staff were not helpful. However the grounds and communal areas are quite nice. Overall, I would recommend that considering somewhere else. There are other hotels nearby at a similar price that offer much better... More

A lovely place to stay, with the old world charm, this place was an unexpected surprise as everything here is very good, Its more like an old "Colonial Mansion" the rooms are named after former Governors of then "Ceylon" & the furniture in the rooms are all old fashioned & comfortable. The staff very friendly & courteous & the food... More

Wonderful hotel with truly an old style of graciousness - Spent a night there and the pub was ok...friendly staff which more than made up for any other shortcomings. I did not notice any - The Victoria Room was large, timber floors, warm comfortable bed.....ah..... thanks.....

The hotel is good located in a colonial house, the rooms are big but they need improvement, running hot water, buffet dinner is ok but with poor vegetarian options and the smoke and smell of the griller in the dinning room is not a good idea. You almost dine in the kitchen. Good free wi-fi.

A colonial built building. The rooms are very spacious, clean and give the visitor a good view of its large garden. Meals are served in buffet style. Finally, I would say that the stay is fully worth of money.

Nuwara Eliya means "Little England" and where can you better stay than in the former house of the Englisch Governor, now the Ceybank hotel. It still has the athmosphere of that times, in cluding the big garden with roses, green grass and oneyearflowers. The hotel itself has everything you need: a very friendly staff, good food, nice breakfast, clean beds... More

After a hot and hectic but fantastic tour..finally a quiet rest in Colonial style with helpful hotel staff and delicious upcountry food. It was cold outside and also in the room when we arrived but staff were helpful in arranging an electric heating device to drive the chill out.

This was the best hotel experience we had in 3 weeks in Sri Lanka. It is a charming colonial era hotel overlooking a lovely garden with friendly staff, excellent food and good value for money. The buffet breakfast and dinners are superb.

This place tells us how it was in late 1900's in Nuwara Eliya. This is a well located big colonial house with a nice garden. The staff is helpful. The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms are correct with very hot water which is quite rare in SL and very welcome in this cold city. We slept very well in the four-poster... More

I stayed at the Ceybank hotel during a recent tour of Sri Lanka. The hotel does have a certain colonial charm, although by modern day standards it is obviously old fashioned. I thought it was a lovely looking building with a large well tended garden. My room was very spacious with an enormous four poster bed. The bathroom was basic... More
