I just got back from a four night stay at the Lamothe House and could not have been more pleased. Be aware that this is NOT a luxurious hotel. It's a B&B in a beautiful old home and has tons of charm that more than makes up for it's drawbacks. My room was off the courtyard. Small, but plenty of... More

My family had a good stay at the Lamothe hotel for French Quarter Fest 2012. This location was perfect for us since we have friends who live in the Marigny, and it was also convenient to the festival stages. Our room off the rear courtyard fountain was tiny and dark, but well-cooled and comfortable. The hotel staff were very friendly... More

We stayed in room M3 in the Marigny House, which is the annex to Lamothe House located on Kerlerec Street, one block further into the Marigny from Esplenade Ave. It's true that the rooms in Marigny House weren't quite as nice as those in the main house, but ours was big enough, spotlessly clean (made up every day while we... If you want a once stately home with New Orleans charm and history but without the southern comfort associated with the tradition, Lamonthe House may be your choice of lodging. If you want a great location to walk to the clubs of Frenchmen, Royal or Bourbon streets or other French Quarter highlights, Lamonthe House may be your choice. If you... More

Our room was not in the main hotel but a building on the street behind. We wanted at least a queen size bed and this was all that was offered to us. That was no problem, but the room itself left much to be desired. It was very small with one small window very high above the sink in the... More

I had a great time and have nothing bad to say about this city I really don't. This hotel is not the Hyatt or sofitel I knew that and you should not expect the hyatt when you go and you will be fine. The location is closer to Frenchman st and by the locals more than the 'Im here to... More

Near really small, great local restaurants and music. Accomodations were spacious, very old property , updated with average low cost materials, clean. If you don't like old and imperfect don't stay here, but we enjoyed the extra roominess. Breakfast was ok but sub standard...white toast, white bagels, bananas, oranges and cold cereal. Located on lovely old, wide boulevard. Would stay... More

We stayed in room 216, which is a 2 bedroom suite. It was definitely not like the picture on the website. I walked in knowing the reviews on the hotel and understanding the age. You definitely have to know that you are interested in staying in a place like this. I had my husband, 2 year old, and father with... More

Alli want to say is that I was ver disappointed. The lamothe house will fool you of you are looking at it on line. Before you book it you might want to see it in person. It is ver ancient, stairs are very weak and narrow. No accommodation for the handicap. We booked a two queen bed suite and was... More

I suppose you could call the Lamothe House Hotel ancient as it was originally constructed in 1839. As the building is approaching its 175th birthday, we are not the most accessible hotel for guests with special needs. I'm not sure where the miscommunication lies, but we do not have any two-queen bed suites. As I've mentioned in past reviews, each... More

This place is so tacky. I will never return here again. O and there is no central heat and air. They still have an old time air conditioner. The ceiling in my bathroom is crack also and the tv is a 19 inch. More

Comparing our hotel to Hurricane Katrina is tasteless. We do have air conditioning in each room, albeit it not central air. A television exists in each room but we find that most visitors to New Orleans do not spend much time watching TV as the real entertainment is out on the streets. The Lamothe House Hotel is clearly not a... More
