just touched down from a cruise, was incredibly tired. stayed at the lobby waiting for to check-in, which was at 4. wifi was supposedly available, but it proved rather elusive. when we managed to connect, it was rather unstable, which really started to make everything worse. consistently checked with the front desk if we were able to check in, the... To start we were very lucky with our room. We stayed in a rennovated room which was great. All the fixtures and furniture were very nice, the exposed original wood beams and brick were beautiful. The courtyards were all closed except one and I can see how in some other areas the construction could be a real pain. Our room... More

We were all excited for a fun-filled Girls' Weekend in New Orleans. My mom, sisters-in-law and I all had tickets to see the Broadway sensation Wicked and we were excited about staying the night in a nice hotel, eating cajun food, shopping, and seeing the show! Our first clue with the room should have been that the keys didn't work.... More

When I made the reservation on the hotels website, no mention was made of extensive renovations being done. Of the 4 courtyards advertised, not even one was available without construction workers walking through. We were in a room with a window (which was extra), we had room serviced once during the 4 nights we were there and then only after... More

I guess we didn't get a renovated room because the room was awful. The old spring mattresses left my back aching for days. The bathroom was dark and small and tub looked disgusting. I think everything was clean but just so old that it looked dirty. Carpet was ripped. The water didn't go down well in both the tub and... More

We've stayed in its sister hotels (Conti, St. Marie, Place D'Armes) in the past and so we thought we'd give this a shot. It was a good decision, especially in light of the fact that we visited the week after jazz fest, the most expensive time of year. Even so, we managed to average under $100--fantastic value. As others have... More

We just stayed in room 416 this past week. Let me start this off by saying the staff is super friendly. We arent complainers and we pretty much just use hotel rooms to sleep. So here are my impressions once you get past the super friendly staff. Lobby nice. Super location within french quarter and walking distance to everything. Great... More

Not worth one dollar a night never mind the 170 dollars they charged us. The carpet was like a lace curtain it was so thin and very badly torn we could hardly open the door to the room and when we did we wished we hadn't . The room was smelly no plugs in the sink or bath and if... More

Although they are trying to update the hotel, it smells musty and there is a lot more that needs to be done to make it comfortable. The beds were not comfortable and some of the fixtures were broken and/or missing.

You have to be willing to do a little "roughing it" in this old brick building — it's a bit chilly, the passageways are narrow, and there are lots of stairs (plus a slow-motion elevator). The lobby is tiny and it is also the only place you can get the in-house free WiFi. Sound horrible? Well, it's actually a fabulous... More
