We (two couples) came to the hotel past midnight and were told right away that they don't have our rooms and will walk us to a different hotel for one night. Sure thing like this happen but what differentiate good hotels from bad is how they handle the situation. The front desk lady waw giving us attitude and was actually... More

This hotel is just an average 3 star hotel on all levels. My biggest complaint is that they serve powdered scrambled eggs in their R Club Level breakfast buffet AND room service. The room service food also suffered in the area of meats and breads. The ham was sandwich meat and really hard, very similar to shoe leather and the... More

Fabulous hotel in the heart of the French Quarter. Upon entering the lobby one is immediately struck by the beauty and elegance. There's also a beautiful courtyard just outside the lobby. We had a king "balcony" room facing the pool area. The "balcony" is more of an outdoor walkway. There aren't any tables or chairs. (no room for them regardless).... More

We had an outstanding experience at the Royal Sonesta in the French Quarter in New Orleans, LA. This regal hotel is well maintained, as was our room. If possible, staying on the R or Club floor, away from the noise of Bourbon Street, affords a wonderful night sleep. A balcony only adds to the attraction, as well as a fine... More

We went to the Royal Sonesta New Orleans for the first time for a family celebration last weekend and had the best hotel experience I have ever had! At booking I mentioned our "SON Day" celebration and got a personal call from Kathryn who asked about our preferences and shortly after we checked in there was champagne in my son's... More

Being unfamiliar with New Orleans and the French Quarter, our initial impression of the neighborhood was "OMG what have we done?" But after entering the hotel (from the hard-to-find garage entrance), our spirits were lifted. The Royal Sonesta is an elegant old hotel with a very friendly staff. We booked early and had a "leap year special rate" so we... More

Overall the hotel was really clean, lobby very elegant, location was absolutely priceless but our room was nothing to brag about. You know how some hotels have better rooms than others, so maybe we just got one of the not so great rooms. The rooms all to the left of us had balconies, not ours, so i was a little... More

We booked this vacation in February with a travel agency for 2 rooms and 4 adults. We requested rooms together, not on Bourbon St and one room with double beds. The travel agent even called and faxed info for conformation. When we arrived none of these requests were available. Called the travel agent and she called the hotel management, within... More

After a lengthy search for hotels in the French Quarter, my friend and I decided to give the Royal Sonesa a try. I am very picky about where I stay. I read all the reviews. I am sitting in the hotel right this very minute wondering why people complained about it not being updated, dirty, or the staff being rude.... More
