The Custer Mansion was a good choice for our stay in Custer. Well kept building of over 100 years in age. Easy to walk downtown. Delicious breakfast. Bob and Pat are hospitable. The B & B is presently up for sale(September 2011). If I were to mention an improvement point, the shower curtain could have been wider to prevent water... More

Spent three nights at this B&B, and really enjoyed the historic building, room, breakfast, and of course the great hospitality! More

Bob and Pat were wonderful hosts. Their sound advice about the area made it a very rich and enjoyable experience. Bob can really put together a great breakfast! More

When we arrived, we discovered that there was confusion over our reservation. We thought it was confirmed but apparently it was not. The man who was there was very rude about it and neither person there indicated if they were booked or if they had availability. I have never encountered such rudeness from someone in the hospitality field before. More

We've stayed here before & it's a lovely old house, located right in the heart of Custer, SD. My only complaint is that upon arrival we were greeted by two dogs barking very loudly, followed by the innkeeper yelling at the dogs & at her spouse for help. During our stay this occurred one more time. As I say, that... More

What a great find in the Black Hills area! National Historic Register home with all the ambiance of the surrounding area. Beautifully decorated with antiques and our hosts, Pat & Bob were most accommodating. Delicious breakfasts that fill you up until dinnertime! Wonderful linens and great rooms, especially the jacuzzi after a long day of hiking! This inn is a... More

This was the 10th accommodation on our recent US vacation. If you want to follow the route, the 9th one was the Sweetgrass Inn, Rapid City, South Dakota. The 11th one was the Nagle Warren Mansion Bed and Breakfast, Cheyenne, Wyoming. What a nice b&b in a house registered in the national register of historic places. The innkeepers Bob &... More

Custer Mansion really is a mansion close to downtown Custer. The location is terrific. The inside is OK, maybe a bit too homey. There is some beautiful pottery, along with stuff like vintage dresses hanging on hangers and mannequins as display items, and lots of dried/silk flower arrangements and Victorian style prints. It wasn't quite my style, but if you like... More

The owners were very friendly and helpful. They made us feel welcome and served a delicious breakfast every morning. The Inn has a great, central location for all of the attractions in the area. However, it needs some updating. There is way too much carpeting and way to much bric-a-brac. I would suggest tearing all of the carpeting out (I... More

We just spent three fun nights/days in the Black Hills and really enjoyed our stay at Bob and Pat's Custer Mansion B&B. The location, in Custer, SD, was convenient to Custer State Park, Wind Cave NP, the Mickelson Trail. and of course Mt. Rushmore. Bob and Pat could not have been more accommodating--we have some specific dietary requirements, and (with... More
