It's an average hotel but definitely nothing to write home about. The rooms are on the small side and a bit dark. If you're on the backside of the hotel like I was, you get a great view of an industrial building and not a lot of natural light in the room. The walls are thin so you will hear... More

Was here for a convention - very convenient - about 3 blocks away and within walking distance to many restaurants and cafes, Pike Place market, waterfront, etc. The hotel is very modern and trendy, artwork throughout. Tiniest hotel bathroom and shower I have ever seen - if I were a larger person this would have been very difficult to maneuver!... More

Hi Kathryn, thanks for sharing your thoughts on your stay with us. We love to hear from guests here on Tripadvisor to get feedback we might otherwise not receive during their stay. With that in mind, did you bring up the noise issue with the hotel staff? I want to make sure that we are doing all we can to... More

This is an old hotel transformed into a pseudo-boutique hotel. It has charming qualities but not the same comfort as a chain hotel. Given the age of the hotel, rooms are small and cramped. The bathroom has no counter space and it is hard to take a shower without either touching the shower wall or shower curtain. This small space... More

LostSojourner, thanks for your honest review! I’m sorry to hear that your stay was not the flawless experience we hope to provide all guests each time they stay with us. Regarding the bathrooms, I understand the issue taken with the size. As a local hotel deep in Seattle’s interior, we do our best to balance utility with artful design in... More

We stayed here for just one night and already we know that upon returning to Seattle, we would book again in a heartbeat! Truly a unique experience, Hotel Max was perfect for us; beautifully modern, with art adorning much of the walls and doors with friendly and accommodating service. They were kind enough to hold our bags and park our... More

This little place is just great! So artistic and chic. Such unique art and made what little time we where there quite fun. It's very small but they make great use of every inch. Clean & Tidy. Aveda toiletries. You can hear your neighbors, but it was never an issue. It's a BIG city, so you are gonna hear sirens... More

Our stay at the Hotel Max was fabulous. The staff are welcoming, helpful and thoughtful. The hotel is so interesting with artwork throughout. We loved our room. The restaurant has a great happy hour and terrific Japanese food. The location is just great. Walking distance to almost all Seattle attractions. We loved our walk down to the PIke Place Market... Wanted a contemporary stylish hotel, rather than standard business hotels. Room didn't disappoint. Lovely touches like the personalized note, Aveda toiletries and menu of pillow options. The restaurant next to the hotel was great for a lone (female) traveller straight off the plane. Didn't feel conspicuous sitting alone. It's a great location, 2 blocks from the train station (the train... More

Stayed here a few years ago during a business trip and it was a pleasant experience. The lobby, hallways, and rooms had a more modern decor. A nice change from the traditional hotel chains. Great location if you are not from the area, and you want to explore the local fare. It is within walking distance to the Westlake Mall,... More

I guess I have been lucky in my work travels to only have stayed in a terrible hotel twice now, Hotel Max being the 2nd. I guess if you enjoy a extremely small closet for the toilet and a separate extremely small closet for the small shower you should stay here. The air conditioner that hangs out the window to... More

Dear Colleen P (Charleston, South Carolina) on 4/30/13, Thank you for the feedback. I apologize that your experience with the guest room was dissappointing. The building was built in 1926 and in 2005 it became the Hotel Max thus the cozy guest rooms. We have nine floor plans and I am certain we have one that would meet your needs.... More
