We stayed in one of the rooms off the deck that had a real fireplace, and a jacuzzi. The room was small but very comfortable. The tub was huge. I never turned on the jacuzzi, but in three nights I took four or five baths in that thing. The breakfast wasn't bad and when we came back from our adventures... More

Stayed at Mary Prentiss last weekend while visiting Cambridge for a family wedding. I was extremely impressed. The rooms were very clean and spacious, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Rooms even had brand new flat screen tv's, which I wasn't expecting at a traditional B&B. Staff was very friendly but respected privacy, and let us check out at noon... More

This Inn has nearly everything you could want in a B&B, minus the hospitality. We normally do not even like B&B's because of the hospitality...we like to be left alone & just like our privacy. Our other choices were booked. The staff here puts the "P" in privacy...their own. We had to learn the ropes on our own as to... More

I came to Boston with my family to look at colleges for my brother and to visit my family who live in Boston. When we arrived at the Inn, we saw that it was a beautiful historic building. We were greeted by a friendly staff when we entered and they brought us to our beautiful suite ( room 14) with... More

This historic property has great potential, but currently does not measure up to expectations. The rooms, especially if you are on the top floor with the pitched roof, are SMALL with no desk space. The property is definitely not for anyone with physical limitations - narrow steep stairs must be managed often in poorly lit conditions. Our arrival was similar... More

So I arrived late (10ish) on a Sunday and was greeted by a note on the door asking me to use the bell to ring the night manager (good), who promptly came to the door in his shorts and "wife-beater" (less than good). Kindly provided the key to my room, which was good... Except for the faint whiff of mildew/mold... More

We have enjoyed all three of our visits to the Mary Prentiss and plan to stay again and again! The rooms were lovely, clean, and plenty large enough for us (including one trip with our two teen daughters in cots). The service is excellent and the food (including a lovely afternoon tea) is good. Easy walk to Harvard Square, Porter... More

Stayed for a couple of nights. The "historical" building (circa 1843) is nicely renovated. So it may be an attractive place for Martha Stewart fans, and the other guests indeed seemed to belong to this crowd. The room I got was pretty small (in America standards) and somewhat claustrophobic. I asked to move but my request was rejected although I... More

The Mary Prentiss Inn is on a short side street about 15 minutes walk to Harvard Sq. and 10 to Porter Square. Our room was very nice, overlooked the quiet side street and well-appointed. Parking was available. The breakfast was lovely and the staff very helpful. More

We only stayed one night but I could have moved right in. We were in Cambridge for a late evening event and decided to stay over at this lovely Inn. They provide free parking - in a garage and the breakfast is to die for. We were served a full breakfast in a lovely sun drenched breakfast room nearly as... More
