We spent two nights at Far View Lodge, arriving just in time to watch the amazing annular solar eclipse on May 20 from our own private balcony. What a treat! The rooms are small, the bathrooms are tiny, and yes - we caught and released at least a dozen moths from our room. But you can't beat the location -... More

We stayed in an updated Kiva room at Far View Lodge during the week of May 11, 2012. What a great bed! After hiking and seeing the cliff dwellings, the mattress felt wonderful. Of course, the great meals at the Metate Room helped, too. We just had appetizers 2 nights, but splurged the last night - it was one of... More

The location on the edge of Mesa Verde with a view of the Park is wonderful. However, the rooms are small and the bathrooms smaller. Decor is early 1950 and the walls are thin. We had a Kiva room so I hate to think what the others are like. The restaurant is adequate but again the view is the main... More

The lodge is a great spot for exploring Mesa Verde. Ask for an upgraded Kiva room. Some rooms have views. The rooms are small with 2 very comfy double Beds with a nice comforter and good pillows. Coffee maker and refrigerator are also in the rooms. More

We recently spent two nights at the Far View. We had a Kiva room, with king bed, and breakfast. First the good stuff...awesome views, you can see forever, good location for a park visit, good bed, seems to have been recently renovated. The not so good stuff...the security light in the parking lot lit our room up like mid-day, breakfast... More

While the rooms are 60's vintage park service, with relatively thin walls, we found everything to be comfortable and clean. Each room has a private balcony, from which one can enjoy great views. The main restaurant at the lodge is a fantastic place to enjoy dinner. Superb food and great wines (make sure to taste something from the local winery... More

While the location of the Far View Lodge was very convenient to the park activities, the quality of the accomodation compared to the price (about $120 per night) was not favorable. The exterior needed painting and the interior bath area desperately needed an update. Would not recommend to anyone. More

We stayed here one night after touring the Mesa Verde sites. The room was 'refurbished' (others await refurbishment) and had spectacular views over the Mesa Verde and beyond to show-topped mountains. We ate in the bar - again, wonderful views. The soup was delicious but the pizza was absolutely disgusting and grossly overcooked. The waiter did, however, exchange it at... More

I'm so glad that I decided to spend two nights at the Lodge, while exploring Mesa Verde and the Montezuma Valley. It was such a treat to stay within the park, I enjoyed the wild horses grazing outside the park buildings, the food at the Metate Room was exceptional, and I had a very positive experience. The Lodge is located... More
