We greatly enjoyed our stay in this elegant home. We had the two adjoining rooms on the bottom floor that shared a bathroom. It was comfortably furnished and the owner provided a scrumptious breakfast featuring a variety of tasty items. I highly recommend the Riverview and it does indeed provide a stunning view of the river!

If old world gentility & graciousness are your cup of tea, this is the spot! Time slows to a southern pace as the Mississippi River rolls in front of you! Beautiful antique furnishings & delicious breakfast as well as helpful tips on local sights, restaurants etc. made this an excellent choice for a maiden visit to Natchez !

My wife, sister-in-law, and I spent two nights here as part of a road trip. All in all, it was a pleasant stay. We had the two upstairs bedrooms, which meant that we had the entire second floor to ourselves. The interior of the house is lovely, if a bit fussy in a Victorian sort of way. The furnishings are pretty, but there is a lack of comfortable seating inside. The entire interior of the house is well kept and clean. The upstairs balconies (front and back) were great sitting places and offered privacy for us. The front balcony is sloped, so a bit less comfortable, but with an incredible view. The river side garden outside the main floor is absolutely beautiful and has the best view of the river in Natchez--the highlight of the house. The rooms were nice and the bathrooms were excellent and roomy--a nice surprise in an adapted old home. The beds, however, were uncomfortable--the lowlight of the house. Ours kind of sagged to the middle, lacked support, and was small for two people. Durrell is a gracious host and just eccentric enough to be interesting without being unpleasant. The food was plentiful, but unremarkable in quality; it wasn't bad, just so-so. The outside of the house is lovely, but in need of some attention. The house is located on a high bluff overlooking the river in an old (safe) neighborhood, with a mix of beautiful restored old homes and some that were decaying and badly in need of restoration. A pedestrian trail/sidewalk runs along the edge of the bluff just outsiide the garden fence and runs all the way to downtown Natchez, just a short walk away. It offers a great opportunity for a lovely evening walk. The price was extremely reasonable. We enjoyed our stay there and would definitely go back.

My wife and I recently celebrated our 1 yr anniversary at Riverview B&B and it was more than a weekend getaway. Darrell was an incredible host and a wealth of information. I'm quite sure Natchez has other great places to stay but we will always stay at Riverview whenever we are in Natchez. The beds were extremel comfortable, the breakfast was incredible and relaxing with aglass of wine in the evening listening to Darrell recount Natchez history was great. Perfect location to the shops.

We were traveling to Gulf Shores for a week on the beach and decided to stop in Natchez and see the city on the way. We found Riverview Bed & Breakfast on Tripadvisor. It was a little confusing because the establishment was call Riverview B&B in reviews on Tripadvisor also. It is Riverside. Durell was very accommodating and gave fun history facts about Natchez and the history of the town. Riverside was very clean. We had an upstairs room in the front of the house. The balcony(on the back of the house) view of the sunset was beautiful. Durell recommended several restaurants to try. We ate at Magnolia Grill (down by the Riverboat Casino) which was a great choice. As other reviews have said - the beakfast Durell served the next morniing was great.

On a 23 day roadtrip, we stayed at many other B & B's, as well as 4-star hotels, and the Riverview was our most memorable stay. We are long standing B & B travelers, and this one has to be around the top of the list as one of our favorites. The location on the north side of Natchez overlooking the Mississippi is fabulous---I can't imagine any better view of the river than the one you have on the 2nd story porch here. But the best part of the experience was the proprietor, Durell, a retired hairdresser to the wealthy in New Orleans and truly a character out of a Tennessee Williams novel. His stories about life in New Orleans and Natchez were both hilarious and insightful. He was gracious the entire time and very helpful with restaurant selections. He loves to cook, and breakfast was truly gourmet. He even offered to carry our bags to the car (pretty rare for a B & B).This is truly an example of how important the proprietor can be in the B & B experience. The house is almost "overcrowded" with quality antiques and original art work. There is a lovely garden in front. When we made the reservation, we had to take a two room suite (which was more than we needed) because the other two rooms were already booked, But when we got there, he told us that there had been a cancellation, and we could save money by taking a regular room---he could have just not told us, and gotten more revenue from us, so we really appreciated his forthrightness. Our room was comfortable, but be advised that there is no shower in this room, just a clawfoot tub (I think one or more of the other rooms has a shower). Durell is not computer-literate, so there is no website, etc., but I guess word of mouth is all he needs to keep his rooms filled. Overall, the fabulous river view (very romantic at night), the beautiful home, comfortable rooms, good breakfasts, and especially Durell make this a "don't miss out" experience (and this comes from someone who is normally quite frank and often critical in my Tripadvisor reviews).

Three couples stayed at Riverview for two nights. Perhaps the best part of our Spring Pilgrimage to Natchez! We enjoyed the knowledge and hospitlaity of Durell, the home, view, his food and stories, and all his wonderful "stuff". A great experience.

Lots of stuff to look at in the home. Two Bedrooms upstairs and one, two bedroom suite downstairs. Balconies in front of house and back of house upstairs and down, so if you want privacy outside the bedroom you will be to get it. Total 6 outdoor sitting areas. Great value with yummy southern breakfast and glass of wine at night included. We had the house to ourselves but the next night the whole house was rented out by a family and friends. What a great place to meet with friends! Bathrooms were in need of an update but did not see any mold. It was pretty clean considering how much stuff was around. I sure would not want to dust all of that! This was our first try at a B&B and really enjoyed the southern hospitality and after this stay will try another B&B.
