We stayed in cottage number 1 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Cape Sable Island in general. The lady (owner) who checked us in was very happy and helpful . The cottage was so homely and the view out of the lounge window, sensational! The fully equipped kitchen was more than adequate and the laundry onsite was a bonus. Watching... More

We stayed in the first cottage which was great. It was bright and clean. The view out the lounge window was gorgeous. Nice helpful owner (lady) who was willing to accomodate and was happy to have a chat. We enjoyed the set up of the cottages as far as layout goes. We could sit out on the large wrap around... More

Well-maintained and well-equipped cottages with a great view of the bay, plus spectacular night skies. A great place to relax; kayaks and canoes were available (free!). The owners were very quick to provide answers to any questions and provide supplies (kindling, matches, etc). Grocery stores and restaurants just a few minutes away, as were some great sandy beaches. Highly recommended. More

This is a great place to relax and unwind. Be prepared - the island has no amenities. We brought in groceries and cooked in our cabin. Really nice to get away. People on the island were so nice. Walked on the beaches for hours and didn't see hardly anyone else. Like being on a private beach. Cabins are clean and... More

The cottages are well kept but lack comfort and all the amenities needed to have a four star comfortable holiday. The beds and pillows are not very comfortable and should be replaced. Linens are dated and smell moldy. Bathroom towels should be replaced with new towels and somehow find a way to get the mold smell out of the linens.... More

Just a short reply to the above posting. (well it started out to be short, but I decided to reply to most of their comments so it grew in length -oops) Please be assured that we have never heard these complaints before. I have no idea what is meant by the comment about the linens and towels. No, the sets... More

We recently spent 3 nights at Cape Sable Cottages and can recommend them highly. The cottages are not cheek by jowl and each of them is right on the water. The decor is charming and everything you need is supplied, including a dishwasher. The beds were comfortable, as were the sofa and armchairs. Nice deck with picnic table overlooking the... More

This place was a gem - an absolutely beautiful find. The cabin that I stayed in was immaculately clean and nicely furnished. Lots of windows, with a lovely view out over the water. Comfy bed, well-equipped kitchen, satellite TV, high-speed internet and friendly owners. And on top of that, Cape Sable Island is a lovely part of the province and... More

We couldn't have been more pleased with our one night at these cottages. I was literally amazed at how charming and well decorated they were!!! Brand new looking, and when told our cottage was seven years old, I just couldn't believe it. It looked BRAND NEW!!! Comfortable sofa, great bed, spotless kitchen and bath, wonderful view overlooking a lake at... More

My second time for Cape Sable Island Cottages and what a wonderful time I had !! Last year my kids and I spent Christmas Holidays here and it was one of the best celebrations we've had but this time I wanted to pack a few things and go down for the weekend by myself to unwind, relax, read and enjoy... Very well appointed cottages - we didn't do much outside due to bad weather. Very clean, comfortable, all the amenities. Dn't let their website scare you -- it looks very "holy" but it isn't a religious retreat or anything. Do get provisions before going out -- only takeout available nearby. Also bring kindling. They supply wood but we struggled to... More
