“Pretty good deal”

As a couple, we stayed for around NZD75 for one night Decent rooms with ensuite Nice little backpackers - some rooms have nice view of inlet Bonus was free bike usage (though they are a bit run down), and use of good shared kitchen Lovely little town, recommend a short stay Good driving access from here North to Hot Water... We stayed here whilst backpacking around NZ for 6 weeks. We loved Tairua, the harbour and Pacific beach were great. The Backpackers is situated overlooking the habour from the deck at the rear, a great location to chill out, gas barbecue on the deck etc The kitchen was reasonably well equipped and clean, fridges available for food storage. “Tairua Backpackers lodge.. I would advise staying somewhere else.”

I would give this place a negative rating if I could. The price was low and there's a reason why. I politely asked the front desk if I could use a different credit card after being rung up for a one night stay on Wed. March 14, 2012. The owners Brent and his wife are VERY rude, discourteous, and disrespectful.... More
