I arrived at noon after driving from Greymouth, hoping my room would be ready! Not only was it ready, its was immaculately presented! The room was perfect, the bed had a soft layer that was inviting you to sleep. My room had a uninterrupted view of the glacier. Highly reccomend these room types -Superior. Every staff that we met from the reception to the restaurant were very helpful and friendly. The beddings were so comfortable, it's like sleeping in the clouds! The restaurant chef is so meticulous that he only serves a perfect cheese pie. He decided that the first one is not good enough and discarded it, then baked another one to perfection.... More

Nothing special about the place. Property is nice but nothing do in franz jospeh rooms are nice. Ok food staff is good. small destination. nothing to do at hotel rooms are comfertable. Nice for a single day not more than that

Nowhere else we have stayed have we had an option of different heights/shapes etc of pillows, this is just one of the services available here. The rooms are pristine, staff are very very friendly and nothing is too much trouble, meals are fabulous, scenery is stunning. Wish we could have stayed longer

loved our stay in this hotel as it was the only alternative compensation from a spoilt weather and cancellation of our heli flight to the glacier. wish the weather had been good and we could have had the best time there. however we felt there is nothing much this place has to over.

The room was clean and very comfortable. The location was excellent. The staff there was very nice. When we arrived, they gave us a room which was on the ground floor. When we requested for another room on the upper floor, they quickly arranged it for us and helped us to move the luggages there.

This hotel was all (pleasant) surprises for us. Our room has the view to die for, spacious, warm, great walk in shower and soft beds. Caravan restaurant (part of the hotel)serves delicious food served by friendly staff. Close to all tours and services. We will be back. Thanks Franz Josef Scenic Hotel.
