This was a wonderful setting and very good value. We were a little short of utensils and cooking facilities were cramped. Didn't really have enough room to prepare dinner for 4 people. Beds were comfy and clean. Felt security was lapse as our windows were left open after the rooms were serviced. (I know this is NZ and low crime,... More

We stayed one night here on our way to Queenstown, Franz Joseph is a great little place to stop over but we had noticed the accomodation was quite pricey. We chose this motel purely because it was the cheapest room rate and seemed quite adequate. The complex is tidy enough, situated just a short walk to town and plenty of... More

Me and my family stayed here for one night only and am thankful to God for that. This place is on lower land and is flood prone area so please BEWARE! The unit is very very old, damp, smelly. The bed heater was not functioning in our room, upon calling the Linda to rectify the problem this was her reply... More

The Glacier Gateway is across the river, just before you get to town, so you have to drive in if you don't want a 25 minute walk in the dark for dinner. Our room was good, plenty of space, fine bathroom, though the hot water pressure was kind of light. There was no heat in the room, so we were... More

We were here 2 nights unfortunately. We were in one of the older units, and it was very disappointing. The unit was damp and smelly and not appropriately equipped. The cooking arrangement was challenging. There was a two ringed unit which we had to move before it could be used and no oven. Notice in the unit said we need... More

Bad quality for what they charge. We got one of the old units... Decor was terrible, and maintenaince poor. Room was mostly clean, but the kitchen cupboard odours were untolerable. More

We had a good laugh but in all seriousness we were truly taken for a ride. Were not welcome on arrival the owner was rude and unfriendly. Insisted on payment on arrival, with no opportunity for an inspection and not shown to our unit, the reason become obvious once we got to our unit. The unit smelt bad, the mattresses... More

This has to be the worst hotel we have ever stayed. The 2 bedroom accomodation was extortionate ($180 per night) for a damp, dark and maintenance absent shed! Lights didn't work, the queen size bed was in fact a double trampoline, and the decor and foul odours were enough to make anyone vomit. Total rip of!! The best thing that... More

This is one of the worst places I have ever stayed in. We were asked to pay in full on check-in without seeing our 2 bedroom 'chalet' and i'm not surprised why. All the windows were wide in a vein attempt to hide the damp and dusky smell. They even opened all the windows again on the second day without... More

$140 for one night is a frightful price for one person (with dog). On the plus side, the place was clean and the towels nice. However - the 'studio' motel unit was more like a dormitory with a long bleak hallway. The hall lighting switched off at 9:40pm just as I was moving in, leaving me in darkness. The security... More
