Idlewilde will always have a special place in my heart. It is charming, beautiful, super clean cabins and grounds and a real sense of peace. You can tell the owners Lloyd and Donna LOVE and take such special care of their wonderful place. The river is so relaxing and only steps away from the cabin, a nightly fire, a hot... More

Our group of four ladies has made a September trip to Estes Park for the past 14 years. We've stayed at Idlewilde by the River the past seven years and can't imagine staying anywhere else. Our cozy, log cabin is right on the river and off the highway. This year we saw elk come to the river right across from... More

We had a cozy, private cabin right on the river, our porch could not have been closer to the water. We could hear the relaxing sound of the river throughout the cabin. Lloyd and Donna were very welcoming and helpful. The perfect place to relax and enjoy the lovely fall scenery. We will definitely stay again when in Estes Park.

We have stayed at the Idlewilde many times over the years. What always brings us back (other than the nice owners) is the location. We've looked at every other resort in the area and this is one of two where when you sit outside your cabin to look at the Big Thompson river the background is NOT the highway. Instead... More

I first stayed at this property in 1971 and when we moved to Colorado in 1991 one of the first things I did was check to see if it was still there. My husband and son and I started going there every spring and fall and my husband and I have continued to do so. Although we travel many places... More

We stayed 4 nights in late August and we were delighted that we chose Idlewilde. I believe there are so few reviews here because this is a small 13 unit resort and most visitors are repeat customers. The pictures do not show just how beautiful the setting is and how charming the cabins are. The cabins are very clean and... More

We just concluded four nights at Idlewilde and can't think of a more perfect setting. Lloyd and Donna were wonderful hosts and the setting is so relaxing. My husbands favorite thing to do was sit next to the river and read. We will be back!

I have been to Idlewilde many times and it is such a great, quiet, place, by the river; I will never stay anywhere else when I visit Estes Park; close to the National Park entrance and the owners are so nice. The cabins are clean and well equipped and you can sit on the screened in porch on the porch... More

First, our children enjoyed our vacations at Idlewilde and now our grandchildren do too (and they come all the way from Iceland). The cabins are so cozy, spotless and well equipped, and there is plenty of scenic, quiet outdoor space with Big Thompson River fishing right out the front door. Donna and Lloyd, the managers are warm, friendly, helpful and... More

I have been staying at Idlewilde for years. More years than I care to count. It is absolutely the best place to stay in Estes Park. Believe me, I've tried them all! The cabins are clean and cozy. The setting is gorgeous. And the owners couldn't be any nicer or more accomodating. Idlewilde feels like home to me ... except... More
