Nothing special , when we booked we thought we were staying in the Salem inn only to be told on arrival that we were actually staying in a b&b 2 blocks away, Curwin House, more of a bed sit than a b & b , We were on the ground floor and the only way I can describe the noise... More

We were two couples travelling together and had the 2-bed, 2-bath "apartment" in the Peabody house. Having just arrived on a long flight from the UK, we were greeted by pleasant staff and checked in without any issues. There is parking behind Peabody house so we were able to get our car off the street, and didn't use it again... More

My boyfriend and I just returned from two nights at the Salem Inn. We stayed 5/31 and 6/1 in the West House, Room 10 the "Enchanted Forest." Check in went smoothly. On-street parking is very limited, but we were able to park in the tiny driveway to unload our luggage. We were given directions to park around the corner at... More

I had the opportunity of staying at the Salem Inn on a road trip I took in my Mustang convertible I drove from Florida. I enjoyed the Inn very much as it was like staying at an old hotel and wasn't overly stuffed with frills. Kind of like staying with my grandmother in her soft bed and quite cozy. I... More

If you're looking for a modern hotel, this isn't it. Read the website and the reviews, look at the pictures, this is a very old inn with different buildings, I believe the website to be an accurate description. THE ONLY WARNINGS I can give are; check in times are between 8am and 10pm. After 10 pm, THERE IS NO ONE... More

This place was available during a recent visit so we "chose" to stay. The Salem Inn was full so we were placed in Curwen House around the corner. If you are visiting, you will need to park either on the street, or if there is a space on the side until you can get checked in and get the parking... More

We come to Salem once or twice a year from NY. We started coming here because we are a Paranormal Team and we liked the history of ghost stories. They also were fine with our little Yorkie,Snoopy, coming. However, after a few visits, we realized this place is filled with warm, friendly people who make you feel welcomed. Jessica Rogers,... Stayed here last month , stayed in the Curwen house .i was greeted by a friendly receptionist who gave me directions to the house. Room was quaint but cold , I had to get up at about 4 am and light the fire . Breakfast was nice, good selection. Would I stay here again , yes indeed .

Dear Gerard, Thank you for your nice review, although I'm not sure why your room was cold before you lit the fireplace. Each of our guest rooms in the Curwen House has individual thermostats, so you should have been able to raise the temperature if you wanted to. We look forward to your return visit. Stayed here due to poor weather on a drive to Maine, the people were helpful and friendly but the room was dirty and didn't smell great. But the bed was very comfortable. Also nice location for going out in Salem.

Dear Hondo H, We’re pleased you found your bed in a whirlpool suite at the West House to be comfortable and our location nice. However, we were very surprised to read the negative comments you made about your room, as you had told the receptionist at check-out that everything was great. Also, if there had actually been a complaint of... More

My friend and I took a trip to Salem around Halloween, and we wanted to stay in town. The town is not very big, so inns are the way to go. We stayed at Salem Inn's Curwen House. It was a great location with on-site parking. The room was quaint, clean and had plenty of space. The breakfast is actually... More

Dear Scarlet, Thank you for your kind review. We’re pleased you enjoyed your October stay at our 1854 Curwen House. As you mentioned, the location is perfect, in the quiet residential McIntyre historic neighborhood with on-site parking, yet just a short walk from the hustle and bustle of our city center. Our guest rooms at the Curwen House are all... More
