What do you get when you blend a beautifully restored 1930s Route 66 auto court with a 1950s auto court and five acres of landscaped grounds that double as a bird sanctuary, and add just enough of the modern amenities modern travelers expect as well as a wonderful breakfast on the patio? The El Rey Inn, a true urban oasis... More

A little blast-from-the-past on old Route 66. Do NOT stay here if you are looking for a five-star glitzy Vegas resort. DO stay here if you want a quaint property with delightfully southwestern flavored rooms, a wonderful breakfast each morning, a calm setting, and great customer service. All I need now is a car with fins and I'm good to... More

We stayed at the El Rey in late May 2013. Our room was pleasant and the breakfast was delicious, but the best was the garden-like surroundings. Although it's located on a main street approaching downtown Santa Fe, the sounds of birds, not traffic, woke us each morning. The property has been recognized by the National Wildlife Federation as a backyard... More

The El Rey Inn is very nice and quite well maintained. The Inn is old but has been modernized. The room with 2 full beds was well appointed and had a very nice bathroom. The decor was southwest, as expected, and well done. There were two hot tubs, one indoor and one outdoor. The continental breakfast was a little disappointing... More

Had a wonderful first stay at The El Rey Inn. We've stayed at several different hotels in Santa Fe, but this is by far my favorite, a great value. It's on the main road, but you wouldn't know it once on the grounds, it's so beautiful & tranquil. Very nice pool area and both hot tubs are nice, one is... More

We've lived in Denver for 20 years and typically go to Pagosa Springs. It was time to do something different. We found the El Rey lived up to all of the other reviews. The room was clean. The bed was firm. The service was as good as a five star hotel. The staff was very friendly. The Breakfast was modified... More

The El Rey Inn was such a delight. Driving by we wondered as it didn't look that great, but once we got into the property we were in for a pleasant surprise. Some of the rooms have there own patio, the pool is close and nice sized. There are 2 hot tubs on the property along with a large courtyard.... More

Set in lovely grounds with pools and spas, this old adobe style Inn (with some later additions)felt like an oasis on a busy road. It is a straight drive from the old city centre, and on Route 66. We stayed in a king deluxe room, with its own little patio and parking right in front. The room was a little... More

We stayed in a 'standard double' at El Rey for five nights in May 2013. The original section of this hotel dates from the 1930's (a real piece of history) and has been added to and updated over the years. From reading other reviews apparently accommodations vary but we were fortunate. Our room was not luxurious, but it was very... More

I've been visiting Santa Fe with my mother for 20 years now and we always try and stay at the El Rey Inn when there is vacancy. We absolutely love it here. The property has only changed a little, as far as updates and a recent add on, but other than that, it has not changed a bit in the... More
