The trip to Shenandoah 05/16-5/20 was a special one. The weather was heavenly, the veiws tremendous and the hike awesome. My stay at Skyland was also an excellent. Althogh not my first trip here the food was better than ever especially the blackberry ice cream pie. The staff was helpful and friendly and seeing 3 bears was just icing on... More

Have stayed in Shenandoah Nat'l Park many times, mostly at Skyland Lodge. Prefer Pinnacle because it is next to the restaurant and can walk over to listen to the evening entertainment without driving or walking in the dark. Views of sunset are awesome. Rooms are rustic, which is what I want. Was able to book a horseback riding session last... More

The dining room had great food and a spectacular view of the valley below. On our way back to the room after dinner we saw a big black bear right along the path. What an experience! Also saw a mother bear and her cubs along the road as we left the next morning. The room left a lot to be... More

My stay at Skyland Resort is great. The food at the only eatery at the resort is good and surprisingly fair priced. Amenities in the room is basic but, that is the great part of it. I was fortunate in that it rained that night at the lodge. The experience falling asleep listening the the rain hitting the room is... More

Absolutetly awesome place to stay in Shenandoah National Park - we had a cosy cabin with a gorgeous view from on top of the mountain range with trees, fog, slanting sunlight - words can't describe the feeling of awe and peace that this inspires. Table service was great and food at the resort restaurant was well-priced and delicious. A short... More

Skyland has great views of the Shenandoah valley to the west. The rooms are nice, cozy, and close to nature and trails. Walking, running, hiking, and nature watching are immediately available. The restaurant has excellent food, local wine, and wonderful blackberry deserts. We will return any time we are in the area. More

This was our third stay at Skylands Lodge. We go to the Shenandoah National Park to hike and want to be right there - close to the hiking, great views over the valley, surrounded by nature. We reserve the less expensive rooms, which are not fancy at all, but have always been clean and comfortable. Great views off the balcony.... More

Staying in Shenandoah Park – at Skyland Resort – for a few days in August 2011, my wife and I enjoyed exploring the great outdoors. On our first afternoon, a deer casually wandered by our cabin. A series of pull-ins along Skyline Drive provided departure points for a range of forest and mountainside treks, catering for walkers and nature lovers... More

We booked one night to stay at Skyland resort. I used a resort web site, which can give a AAA discount plus you can add your ‘wishes’ for the room. Our prior stay at the resort was at Franklyn building, and we liked it a lot because it was quiet and with partially valley view. This time we got a... More

In August 2011, my family took a trip to the east coast for two weeks. We stopped in Cleveland, Washington D.C., Williamsburg, and later Gettysburg, but the best time of the trip was likely at the Skyland Resort in Shenandoah National Park. After a morning in Colonial Williamsburg, we headed up the hills to Shenandoah. It was about a two... More
