We were unaware of major construction being done to the hotel until we arrived: scaffolding around the entrance, beach view rooms lanais (porches) are being repainted/redone. Floors above 38 were being renovated. We hear heavy duty drills on the floors below despite not being directly below the renovation zone.

We enjoyed our stay at the Aston Waikiki Sunset. The pool was usually crowded but nice and there were available BBQ grills for cooking outside on the pool deck. Room was kind of small but nice none the less.
