Just came back from Yosemite Park and had a pretty good experience at Crane Flat campground. You'll certainly enjoy their huge campsites with plenty of space to set up your tent, bear proof food containers, spots for 2 cars, table + benches and fire ring. The only non-convenient part is that there's no showers ($ 5 at Curry Village). There's... More

We stayed two nights at Crane Flat Campground. It is located 8 miles inside the highway 120 gate and 16 miles from Yosemite Valley (about a 20-30 minute drive). We arrived on a Wednesday and set up camp in the early afternoon. That allowed us time to set up and go into the valley to orient ourselves and do some... More

We stayed here 1 night in July, with our camper (23 foot). We had a great spacious site and enjoyed staying here. It can be a little bit noisy after the quiet hours. But it is a beautiful campground middle in nature. Very nice ranger walked along and invited us for information evening. Toilets have no light at night. More

We just got back from spending a long weekend up in Yosemite. We stayed at The Crane Flat Campground. It was nice campground. But as others have said most sites are sloped. We were in camp site number 440. It was a small site. We could barely put 2 tents on it. This camp ground does have flushing toilets, but... More

We spent 2 nights at the campground. Booked it 3 days before our trip as they had a cancellation(?). Pluses: 30 min drive to the Valley; sites are nicey spaced apart; for $20/night better than staying at a hotel. Negatives: bathrooms are dirty and have no lights (dark even during the mornings); some people don't observe the curfew hours between... More

We stayed for 3 days after 4th of July w/o reservations, quite a surprise that not only was there availability but that the campground was clean & exactly what we were hoping for! Sites are comfortable distance apart from each other & park rangers did drive-bys during the day to make sure everyones belongings were safe. No showers but they... More

Stayed 4 nights here. Great place if in self-contained RV - you get huge sites with table, firepit and bear box. Only real issue is low number of toilets (1 male/1 female per ~50 sites) and lack of showers - obviously not perfect if camping. Frequent Ranger talks by the campfire, 30mins drive to Yosemite valley. Next to petrol station/groceris. More

Just stayed at Crane Flat in a tent on a first-come, first-serve basis, and had a blast. Our campsite was almost as big as the lot for our house! We backed up to a meadow so no one was behind us, and there was a great distance from all the other campsites. We arrive on Mondays in Yosemite to get... More

My g/f friend and I stayed here for labor day weekend. I have stayed in yosemite quite a few times and this campsite was overall not too bad. We were lucky enough to get a 500 series campsite as these seem to be more private. The bathrooms are clean with running water and the staff is friendly enough. This was... More

It is much more seperated than the camp sites down in the valley. Less of a place for children. Good bathrooms that are cleaned regularly with running water. Stick to the 500 series outer loop for some more seclusion from neighboring sites. More
