If this was a hostel anywhere else I would consider it average. However, given the high quality of backpacker accommodations in New Zealand it's a bit under average. Stayed in the backpackers on Feb 6th and disappointed with the messiness of the kitchen, lack of soap in the bathrooms and towels left lying on the floor of the shower rooms. Otherwise, well situated in the town and probably staying in the Lodge part would have been perfect. Staff were lovely and helpful.

Located right in the heart of Wanaka so is handy to the supermarket, bars, Cafes and the lake etc. We stayed in a lodge room which was light and cosy but not the most comfortable as it was very basic.
