We arrived at the Glenorchy Villa and were instantly disappointed with what we found. A near derelict garden fronting an even more desperate looking house. Like all other reviews the first impression was that of a smoky old hovel that was in dire need of a clean. The owner was quite pleasant and when he showed me to my room... More

This really is a time-warp place, as previous reviewers have said, but actually the bed was very comfortable and I slept well. Breakfast was good too, with properly cooked eggs and bacon. But oh dear, that chain-smoked decor - remember when pubs were like that? I was mentally stripping the sittingroom wallpaper off and scrubbing the walls with sugar soap.... More

We can't disagree with other reviews. Feels like a 70's B&B which hasn't been touched since but it was the cheapest we could find and as we arrived at 10pm and left at 8.30 am it was a place to sleep. At least the sheets were clean.

This place in absolutely 'manky'. Avoid at all costs, regardless of price. Things don't seem to have changed from early 2008 reviews, which I unfortunately didn't check out before hand. The owner looked non too clean himself. The window in the room was caked with cobwebs and trapped insects, packets of biscuits were months out of date. The wash hand... More

When we arrived in the evening we hoped that we were at the wrong place, but unfortunately it wasn't. From the outside it looks very old and need a lot of renovation. The grass was growing on the roof! You got the feeling you arrived in a Hitchcock movie. Inside everything was smelling like cigarette smoke. The rooms need a... More

Never judge a book by it's cover!! The outside of the Glen Orchy is an attractive building - and that's where the good things stop. The steps approaching the house are broken and crumbling, the garden in disarray, the vestibule dirty and dusty with 'old' dust, the owner appeared several minutes after we arrived, did not introduce himself, but took... The broken concrete steps upto the front door should have told us something. When we got inside the place stunk of stale smoke and the interior is very tired and badly in need of a complete redecoration. The room had a nice view out across the sea but it was so small that we could not get ourselves and our... More

I spent a night here by myself when visiting Tarbert for a course and chose this B+B as it was the cheapest I could find. If you're looking for anything more than a roof over your head go elsewhere! The place smelt rather musty and looked like it hadn't seen a good old spring clean (let alone a makeover) since... More

We were looking for a cheap B&B just for the one night, but as we were travelling with our dog our options were limited. We found the Glenorchy online after doing a search for dog friendly accommodation in the area. It sounded ideal and at £54 for the night it seemed quite reasonable too. Like everyone else on here, we... More

I cannot believe I paid to stay here and wish I had read the other reviews before booking! I left glenorchy feeling incredibly dissappointed aswell as reeking of smoke and have never been so glad to get out of somewhere! I agree with one of the other reviews that it would of been better just to have slept in the... More
