We started our honeymoon here, it was the most relaxing, blissful and beautiful 3-4 days - the days after the wedding when all you want to do is chill out, eat good food and drink good wine and pamper yourselves - this is the place to do it in style! We went on 9th June and the weather couldn't have... More

I recently stayed at Monastero Santa Rosa and it was incredible magic! The room was perfect, very spacious, and clean. The bathroom was worthy of a 5 star hotel, with bath and separate shower, double sink and courtesy "Ortigia" excellent. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant on the terrace deserves a romantic dinner. The Spa is one of... More

We spent 3 fabulous nights at the Monastero Santa Rosa and our only regret is that we could not have stayed longer. The staff could not have been nicer, friendlier or more professional. Everyone knew our name within 24 hours, where we were from and even our food allergies. This is a truly first class hotel and nothing has been... More

Great location and beautiful hotel. Cliff top location provides breath taking views. SPA is cleverly designed to maximise use of space and unique features of the monastery structure. Restaurant chef Christoph Bob and restaurant manager Daniel run a great team which provided many highlights. Given there are only 20 rooms the service levels overall are patchy. The hotel lacks a... Writing a simplistic review of the Monastero Santa Rosa does not do this exquisite hotel justice. The climax of a wonderful 3 week honeymoon in Italy, the Monastero Santa Rosa exceeded all expectations. Upon arrival, my wife and I were immediately met by reception staff. After a refreshing drink and a short tour of the property, we were shown to... More

This is a beautiful hotel with some of the best views on the Amalfi coast and one of the best I have stayed at worldwide. Clearly designed by a visionary (the attention to detail and sympathetic homage to the pre-existing monastery is wonderful), this combined with the unique cliff top location would be enough to make this special. In fact... More

Our stay at the Monastero Santa Rose is one we will never forget. The hotel is gorgeous and a perfect place for relaxation. The room was beautifully appointed, the gardens lush and the views stunning. But real credit must be given to what made our stay perfect in every way: the amazing staff! There were countless little things - a... More

We've just come back from a long weekend at Monastero Santa Rosa. In short, it is the best hotel I've ever stayed at. There's so much to say but the only way to really find out is to experience it. Firstly, the building. The attention to detail is incredible - everything is finished to an incredibly high standard. Then the... More

A solitary gem hanging on the cliff....the epitome of soft, understated casual elegance. As the bell tolls announcing our arrival, we step thru the ancient, thick walled, doorway and are gently enveloped with the serene tranquility which must have permeated these walls for centuries. This peaceful sanctuary is enhanced by the gently nurturing staff. Their warm and caring attitude extends... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Striking the perfect balance of seclusion without solitude, Monastero Santa Rosa allows guests to determine the tone of their stay, whether they’re looking to disappear for an intimate getaway or gather with the group and make new acquaintances. It’s hard to imagine that the generous grounds, filled with four levels of gardens, lush landscaping, plentiful lounge chairs, and canopied daybeds, serve just 20 rooms and suites. Where most boutique properties might only offer in-room massages, Monastero Santa Rosa hosts a fully equipped spa to rival any major city spa, offering not just treatment rooms, but large-scale amenities that include a sauna, steam, mosaic-tiled experience shower, hydro pool, and tepidarium. Guests are welcome to feel a part of the scene at the library and bar. Engage in a game of chess or cards or read while sipping a martini in the modern cocktail area. Relax down by the pool or discover the resort’s secret gardens, quiet sun decks, and indoor relaxation areas. Get the best of both worlds by making your stay as energizing or relaxed as you wish, by selecting different spaces to suit your mood at any time. ... more   less
