The attention to detail was good however the customer service was bad by who i assumed was the owner, the female waitress was lovely, the less than average standard of food was overpriced, we felt like we were being rushed in and out ... We also heard the comment on the end of the booking call, conclusion, wouldn't recommend to... More

This was our second visit to the Old Pines at Spean Bridge. The owner picked us up at Garelochy, having walked from Neptune's Staircase. The outstanding features of the Old Pines are hospitality, cleanliness, location, food, comfort, value, I could go on and on. The home cooked food by the owner's wife, is amazing. From the crisps to the bread... More

I booked this restaurant for my husbands birthday by phoning direct and assume I spoke to the manager/owner who sounded lovely. I was really looking forward to dining here because of that so was a bit disappointed when we arrived to find the place extremely quiet, only 2 (maybe 3) waiting staff were on with no sign of any manager... This is a comfortable and homey place to stay in the peace of the woods. It is owned by a very nice family that has really done things right. One of the unique experiences was dinner. We were directed to the living room with the warm fire. While there, we were served our drinks and appetitizers. It was so relaxing.... More

Stayed at the Old Pines in April 2013 on a last-minute ski trip to the Nevis Range and Glencoe. Very comfortable, clean room with TV, hair dryer, and en suite shower. Owners are very nice and greeted me with a pot of tea as I arrived. It's a beautiful, peaceful location overlooking Ben Nevis, so sleeping will never be a... More

I booked this hotel on the strength of the reviews here, and they didn't let me down. On arrival after a long drive, i was greeted with tea and cake-lovely! Rooms are very clean with thick carpet and comfy beds. There aren't many places in Spean Bridge to eat and drink, but don't worry as the food is excellent. Breakfast... More

This place is amazing, a secluded and romantic get-away in a unique Scandinavian log lodge, situated on a quiet country road. “Old Pines” is beautifully situated on a hillside nestled within an ancient pine forest with the most stunning views of Ben Nevis and surrounding mountains. Our party of six, including two elderly couples, had a very comfortable and memorable... More

The Old Pines Hotel is a lovely small hotel in Spean Bridge. The views from the restaurant windows are gorgeous, especially this time of year. The hosts were very friendly, and the overall atmosphere of the place was very calm and relaxed. The lounge with the fire and comfy sofas was a highlight. My room was spotless and very comfortable.... More

Lovely pine lodge in the forest. Friendly welcome with tea and fruit cake. Clean room and spacious bathroom. Drying room available, which we needed after getting soaked to the skin walking from Fort William to Gairlochy. Dropped off by the owner the next morning, back in Gairlochy, much appreciated. Unfortunately we didn't sample the evening menu as we fell fast... More

Delighfully quirky, comfortable...almost "shabby chic" but that description isn't good enough. All built of pine, log burner in the lounge, home baking & home made strawberry jam, tea & scones served in Highland Stoneware, free ranging hens & ducks outside plus pet goats & pigs, burn tumbling past the windows, amazing views all round, quiet & peaceful...... We stayed there... More
