We live in Heredia and went for the “festival de Ballenas” to Uvita. We choose for this Lodge because of all the good reviews. The lodge is located in the jungle but fortunately not too far away from the beaches. It is really a special place. Our room was located in a beautiful garden with an amazing mountain view. We... On our way to Corcovado we stayed at La Cacatua Lodge. It was absolutely the best place where we stayed on our trip in Costa Rica, thanks to Tripadvisor. At the day of arrival the owners welcomed us with a nice free drink of the house. The hotel has nice cabins with beautiful decorated and clean rooms. There is a... More

I went for a couple nights to this nicely located place up the hills of Uvita and you can bet it was a good choice. Marja and Peter both made it fell like home and waited for our arrival awake late, which was very nice from them. Places are just fine, clean and basic but cozy and nicely decorated. Breakfast... we wanted to spend a couple of days in Uvita and bring our puppy with us, La Cacatua Lodge was the only place in the area that allowed us to make this happen. The place is really beautiful, the rooms are cozy, the green areas are very spacious and the attention of managers is very good, definitely a place to... More

The lodging is top notch in quality. Very nice comfy beds and pillows, solft towels and a superb bathroom, all very well decorated, located on a hillside. The lodges all have their own path to them, so very private. On top of that they come with a small fridge that is very useful for cooling your drinks for a trip... More

Uvita is amazing! My girfriends and I stayed at La Cacatua for 3 nights. It was perfect! The rooms were comfortable, clean, and nicely decorated and VERY reasonably piced. Peter and Maria were excellent hosts and fun to talk to. They had great advise as to where to go for meals and activities. We went paddle surfing, whale and dolphin... More

It took us a long time to find this place as the signage is minimal. It's up a long dirt road which was a bit scary at night in our 2-wheel drive car. The owners are friendly, and grounds are pretty. The room itself was just ok. It was attractive enough, but smelled of mildew and had no AC. It's... More

Stayed here in a studio for 2 nights on our honeymoon. Peter and Marja were EXCELLENT hosts catering to our every need. Rooms were extremely clean, and modern, and a great value for the $. Only drawback was there was no ac, and room can become a little stuffy. There are ceiling fans that do make things a little cooler.We... More
