Wonderful location. Lovely rooms. Mine hosts could not be more helpful and charming and courteous. Panzano is an unsung gem of a town. Walls, restaurants, artisan wine makers, artists, a haute couture and hand made shoe person, France's most famous butcher, a castle lived in as apartments, vineyards as far as the eye can see - and the Villa Sangiovese... We stayed one night at the Villa as part of our self guided hiking tour. Our accommodation was booked by David Charnes Tours. We were not disappointed. After walking all morning, we arrived grubby-looking and tired from our hike. Despite the fact it was hours away from a check in time, we were welcomed and brought to our rooms so... More

Usually, we are not going in hotels, we prefer to stay in " agriturism"., but when we arrived in the chianti area, many places were still closed because of winter time. So, we stopped in Villa Sangiovese, just for 1 night. The room was nice and clean, well heated, and at the breakfast, we were very surprised, it was a... More

Do not stay here if you have a car. The Villa does not provide parking to guests. Do not stay here if you are physically unable to carry your bags up three flights of stairs. The staff will not help you. Do not stay here without areoguard. The hotel windows do not have fly screens, and the mosquitoes will eat... More

Lovely family run hotel. Terrace at the back is so peaceful with a stunning view. We usually spend our holidays rushing around trying to see lots of things but this place was so nice we just spent all afternoon sitting on the terrace reading and looking at the view, enjoying a bottle of local wine. The town itself is small... More

I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone for the following reasons, which I feel merit the full explanation I have given below. In short, the owner of this hotel is an odious individual who should not be in the hotel business if he does not want to be polite, or even honest to his guests. He does not deserve your... More

The guy that runs this place was drunk and abusive while we dined at the restaurant. He was an old Swiss guy and not only tried to rip us off with the bill but then started to rant and rave when we questioned the bill (which he had tallied up completely incorrectly). Expensive, horrible service and average food at best.... More

"We were only in Panzano for 2 nights, but wish we had stayed longer. This was our second time in Chianti, but our first time at Villa Sangiovese. From the time we arrived the owners and staff fussed after us. The room was clean and spacious as was everything in the hotel. They have a lovely courtyard and a peaceful... More

Panzano is a small village right off the Chianti Wine Road S222 - a lovely car drive through the Italian countryside from Florence to Sienna. It is just past Greve, considered the unofficial "capital" of Chianti. This hotel sits on the main square of Panzano and while it doesn't have a remarkable facade, the view from the back of the...
