Room was Ok, and we did have a good evening in the bar. Big buts through. The whole place was shabby. Two large black labs were wandering around during breakfastt sniffing and wanting food. Totally uncool. Someone was banging drums in the bar area until aftrer 2:00 in the morning.

We were attending a local wedding so spent very little time at the hotel. We were in Rm8 which was clean and spacious enough for our travel cot and luggage. Room and ensuite were clean and in reasonable condition, bed comfy. We didn't go into the bar so can't comment but the hallways were quite tatty and needed some tlc.... More

Not the best of welcomes, shown to a grubby room, changed to a twin, not much better but at least brighter.Poor furniture, used quilts to hide springs coming thro the mattresses, bathroom had the basics.Dogs a nuisance, begging for food at the dining room and breakfast tables, had full run of premises including the kitchen. The dogs made full use of... My partner and I didn't stay here, as we were staying with family locally. We decided to pop out for a drink and a meal and have to say what a fabulous place! Traditional, warm, homely, welcoming and great value for money. We chatted to visitors and locals alike and had the best time! Gorgeous views and wonderful hospitality -... More

When so many of the good places in the Northwest Highlands have either sold out or gone under, it's a privilege to discover one you didn't know about before. In the main bar the local people sit at the bar alongside visitors and the chat goes all ways. For drinks you can get anything you want - lager, real ale... More

I stayed here for three nights in september with two friends whilst on a motorcycling break. The outstanding views, comfortable rooms, nice food, excellent staff and an AWESOME pint of guiness made it for us. Oh to top it off two beautiful Black Labradors. Im sat here now planning our next trip up to there in May 2013. Looking forward... More

Myself and my partner stopped by for dinner in december 2012, and were not blown away by the condition of the pub. The back bar with the pool table stank of dirty toilets and was very offputting. We went through to the window seats to eat dinner and were surrounded by the hotel owners children using the bar and restaurant... More

Me and my family go to lochcarron every year! With hopes of one day moving up there. Although I am from Manchester Lochcarron feels like my home! And my annual visit to Lochcarron would not be complete without going to the Lochcarron hotel, and playing with Nigels (the owner) two amazing and beautiful black labs and having a drink. I... More

visited this hotel really by accident due to car break-down. we were camping and visited for drinks every day twice for 3 days. one of the best places we visited pub-wise on a 3 week holiday in scotland with real-ale and friendly staff. there is a public bar at the back.
