This place would be ok in the Summer, but we stayed the first weekend with rain for the first time in months and the room was so damp already. Very old and tired furniture and fittings, bathroom was terrible, shower hopeless. Person at reception at the time of our check-in could not even recommend a restaurant for us to dine... More

Greenacre Motels is a superb spot to explore Hanmer from. Whilst on the 'outskirts' it is still only a 10 minute stroll in to town and at the base of the walking track to the lookout over town. Great facilities and for our family reunion was just ideal.

While the chalet was a nice size and it was set in a beautiful location, it needed refurbishing. The wallpaper was coming off the walls. The decor was from the 70s. The bed springs were very bouncy. There were cobwebs in the toilet

Cabins need updating especially in the Kitchen and Bathroom area. Site is in a good location just a short walk from town and the Spa. Parking ajacent cabins and laundry on site. Plenty of variety for places to eat and drink

The Greenacres Chalets are a series of cabins located just above the main street of Hanmer Springs. The location is good and the surrounding mountains and beautiful scenery are lovely to look at and peaceful to enjoy. We visited Greenacres travelling as a party of two families of 4 and found our stay in the villas very roomy, well located to town centre with 10 minute (very) leisurely walk and great views. Our villas were adjoining and had small balcony each and very spacious. We loved our short stay and would come back again.

I stayed at Greenacres as part of an organised trip of the top of the South Island. A group of us stayed in House 6. The accomodation appeared to have been refurbished in the recent past, and improvements had been made to the bathroom. The accommodation was immaculately clean, and we had a good one night stay.

Greenacres claims ot be the oldest motel in Hanmer Springs and it shows. Whether this conveys 'past its sell-by date' or old-world charm will be a matter of choice, but we enjoyed it.
