If you live the experience to have an accomodation in a former yard, that's the only opportunity you have worldwide... I think. Rooms are comfortable, always include walk-inside guardarobe, spacious toilet and reasonably priced minibar. Restaurant is nice, even if wine selection will be by far largest than the food selection. Very nice and really big rooms with perfect beds! The hotel itself is modern, but the restaurant is an old shipyard. Everything looks really goed and the food (including the breakfast) is perfect. The staff is friendly. More

If you didn't know it before, Alte Werft reminds you that Papenburg is all about ships! But they do it in a "not too overdone" way. Their rooms are a good size and well outfitted. Stayed at this hotel while on business in north-west Germany. It is built from an old ship dock and still has the dock structural parts as part of the dining area.
