My wife and I were off to Dingwall to visit a friend who was in hospital, as it was on the spur of the moment, I booked a room for the night, recommended by our friends husband. After booking I saw the reviews on this hotel. After reading them, I had a few reservations about the hotel. As it was just... More

The previous reviews must have hit at a bad time. We live locally and occasionally eat here for a bar meal. The staff are good, there's decent Trade Winds local ale on, and the food is usually excellent, for good prices. More

I arrived at the "hotel" hoping the Tudor style exterior did not match the interior. I am pleased to say it didn't thanks to whoever decorated the place back in the 60s! After searching for a member of staff through a grotty pub with a stale smell, i was met with a member of staff that could share the same... More

The rooms were filthy, and you could hear the people in the next rooms as though they were in with you. We complained on leaving to the owner , whose attitude was he couldn't care less. Health & safety was non existent, with extension lead plugs under the beds, and no adjustment on the shower. These were supposed to be... More

having been booked in by my work, I read the reviews with some trepidation. On arrival was shown to room which was spotless, with comfortable bed and good shower. Sky tv worked with a good choice of channels. Food was excellent , especially the fish, dining room staff very friendly. I was lone guest for breakfast one morning but had... More

After living in the area a few years ago and being somewhat of a regular, i decided to take my girlfriend here for dinner. Or tried to at least. We arrived just after 8pm, well within the 6-9 opening hours advertised. When we came into the lounge bar, it was cold, and not terribly clean. We spoke to the barman,... More

There are only two channels on a 12 inch portable tv with no remote control. Shared bathroom and toilet, with no thermostatic safety device on shower. Toilet roll was either non existent or see through. No extraction system for steam in shower area, also 60 watt candle bulb in glass open shade over shower area, would not pass modern building... We went here for dinner one night during our stay in the area and what can I say? The food was exceptional. Beautiful breaded camembert with cranberry sauce for starters, followed by an exquisite Chicken Balmoral with locally sourced haggis for main, and the best floater coffee I've ever tasted to finish. All at a good price too. Excellent, attentive... More

When i arrived on the monday night after a 9 hour drive i asked about food and the reply i got was ' i will ask the chef and see how he feels ' , this was 1.5 hrs before the restaraunt was due to close. There were some very noisy young girls swearing loudly in the public bar which... More

I do not recognise the hotel from some of the previous comments. I had a lovely big room well furnished and so comfortable the staff were wonderful, and friendly and the food was good too no complaints at all and would certainly recommend it More
