We stayed at the Campanile in Puilboreau in early August, right at the height of the La Rochelle season. For that reason alone, it was worth staying out of town, and the price was great (we got a 3 for 2 deal as well on the Campanile website, so overall it cost about 125 quid for 3 nights!).
