We stayed here three nights while attending the Bards, Ballards and Bulldust festival - May 2013. What an excellent place. Large rooms, double glazed, heatpump, Good kitchen and underfloor heating in the ensuite. We enjoyed the spa room - excellent set up - and the lounge, kitchen dining room. The whole motel is exceptionally well set up. Thoroughly recommend as... More

We were a group of 16 from Australia and made our booking via a travel agent. Although the website showed that Hawkdun Lodge was attractive we were not expecting too much in such a small town. How wrong we were! We were welcomed by the owner and were shown to our rooms which were spacious and tastefully decorated. Although the... More

Arrived mid- afternoon to a warm welcome. Our studio unit was large & spotless. Thoroughly enjoyable day & a yummy breakfast was enjoyed before starting off on our last day on the cycle trail. Overall impression of Hawkdun Lodge was excellent, although slightly expensive compared to other accommodation we stayed at in central otago.

We arrived at lunch time for our booking at 2 pm and were welcomed to our lovely new units, no problem that we were two hours early. The unit was spacious and spotless and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Quite simply the best accommodation that we experienced on our six day cycle ride

An extremely accommodating host. A feeling of luxury after a day on the dusty rail trail. We stayed in the generously sized honeymoon suite. It seemed to be soundproofed from the road. A perfect breakfast for the health conscious. Would definitely recommend.

The jewel in the crown is the Hawkdun Room - a communal area with comfy couches, large TV, dining tables and kitchen. Breakfast is served here and it's a great... More

Warm hospitality, lovely modern rooms with nice furnishings, fabulous spa! (The jets are great for massaging the aches from the Otago Central Rail Trail.) Free to wash & dry clothes, including the washing powder. Things to see nearby, too.
