Stayed in a chalet and because it’s out of season it was lovely and quiet (only us and a couple of camper-vans staying there). Chalet was comfortable and roomy, had everything you needed. Has central heating on pretty much constantly although we also had to use the air con heater as it was really cold in the evenings. But there was also an option to buy a bundle of logs from the staff to use the log burner in the chalet if preferred but we didn’t want to mess with the cleaning of it before leaving, so we didn’t bother with this. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Lovely area and great location for accessing caminito del rey (literally a 15 min walk down the road to the first tunnel to get on the track to the north entrance). Great place to stay if you’re interested in wildlife - we counted 33 griffin vultures that were circling over the top of the mountain right next to the campground - we then saw them nearly every time we went anywhere in the surrounding area. Parking available next to the chalet although we ended up leaving the hire car in the car park at the entrance as inside its rough ground with slopes and lots of tightly packed trees to navigate around. But the chalet wasn’t far from the entrance so it was just as easy to park there instead.

We didn’t have the best experience here, we had tried to book by messenger and email neither received a reply so we just arrived, it was about 1pm on a Monday. The receptionist at first said she couldn’t do a 2 night stay, but after looking through papers and computer decided that we could stay for 2. However our space already had a Motorhome parked there, so she squeezed us in next to it. It’s the tightest space we’ve ever been in and just didn’t feel ‘comfortable’. On walking around the site there were lots of really nice places, just a shame we didn’t get one. Unfortunately, I fell and twisted my knee so I count do the Camimita del Rey walk, and not finding the space very pleasant we couldn’t wait to get away. I’m sure lots of people have a much more pleasant experience. Just wish I had received a reply to attempts to make a reservation! There are some fabulous views, but we didn’t find anywhere to walk our dog apart from just around the site!

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights so we could visit Caminito Del Rey. Check in was swift and the guy on reception was fabulous. He was thorough and knowledgeable with excellent English. Also had a great laugh. We have a long wheel base Trafic so booked a camper pitch. It was fabulous with a lovely picnic table and gorgeous views. The toilets and showers are fine. Although hubby did say he didn’t have much room in his. I think the female ones are probably bigger. Water was hot and they were clean. The site looks fab. We were sorry we couldn’t use the infinity pool but it does look amazing. As for the lake, view point and scenery. All I can say is wow. We loved our stay here. Hearing the owls at night and waking up to bird song is the best a camper can ask for. I would recommend this place if you like peace and views. We would definitely come back.

Got up and left at 7am to get here to camp as Saturday and only wanted one night as my daughter has school on Monday, like most. Under no surcumstances will they let you in before, 12, which by the time you set up your tent half the day has gone. It took a real battle to eventally get her to let us WALK in just to look at the camping so we could decided the camp space we wanted to save a bit of time. By the way we arrived at 10 am, In her grace she then did say we could come at 11,30, which was a help but really, we wanted to be set up and ready by then to explore for the day. Only camp site that I have ever experienced this as people arrive and leave at all times of the day, plus its October so not even busy period. Will not come back until they change this as we lost half a day from waiting to be allowed in. Blaise Hills

It has lovely surroundings, nice lake to swim, cheap bar and close to caminto del rey. Good with animals. Nice and relaxing place to chill. I would definitely recommend it and will be back the next time.

Went with some friends and stayed in an apartment. One of our other friends who paid to stay in the camping ended up sleeping on the floor of the apartment on a blow up bed. Since the employees were apparently spying on us they knew this and refused to give us our £50 deposit back even though we left the place spotless! They then asked us in raised voices to stay whilst they checked for any damages so they could charge us more! If your planning on staying here just know that they are rude and will rip you off!

We love this campsite as not only is it picturesque (being by the lake and in amongst trees) but there is also a lot to do around about eg swimming, walking, kayaking, SUP. The onsite shop is handy for cold drinks and anything else you may have forgotten to pack. The check in can be slow which is a bit annoying.

Stayed at Parque Ardales this past weekend. It is a really good place to enjoy a family break. The kids had a great time there. We stayed in tents, the plots were ok and reasonably well maintained. The communal facilities are ok, some small improvements would make them great. I would definitely visit this campsite again. It’s good and all the staff very friendly.

We went this weekend with my 2 dogs, obviously we paid €50 which is a refundable deposit if everything is as you find it. My dogs are amazing and we go everywhere with them, my shock is when I checked out which is that they said that the quilt had hair on and that they had to keep the €50 so that they can clean the bedspread!!!! It’s ridiculous that they keep €50 to clean the bedspread, erm hello don’t you clean them anyways 😷, anyhow very disappointed never going back!!!

Response from Parqueardales, Gerente at Camping Parque Ardales
Responded 13 Jun 2019
I'm sorry, but in the apartment it's very clear that dogs can not get into bed. On the other hand, in addition to the quilts full of hairs, one of the quilts had been put in the closet and was vomit dog. At check-out, they were told all this and the lady who stayed at the apartment said that it seemed normal that we did not return the deposit.
